Some emotional support
My dearest WPA friends, I am in need of some moral support as I prepare to go to this Anusara Yoga Conference in San Francisco next week. I have been offered 2 non-prime-time teaching slots at 7:00am. I live in NYC; that means I have to get up at 4:00am Eastern Standard Time to teach a class that is not being livestreamed or featured. They are meditation classes. I have been invited to teach one asana class with 3 other teachers at the end of the conference. This sounds so petty to me, but my ego is taking a bit of a beating here. My background is I was one of the teachers that helped to save Anusara after our teacher, John Friend, left. This is the first conference since 2012 that I have been given non-prime time slots. It is a huge amount of time off and sacrifice for so little exposure. I agreed to these terms, but part of me wishes I had just said no and shown up as a student. Some of the "star teachers" have been given 2 or 3 prime-time classes. How can I frame this as a win and not a demotion in my position in the community? These star teachers will bring people in. I have no following on the West Coast. It makes sense, but I want to go with a full heart and not this feeling of lack. Thanks for any suggestions on how to reframe this. @Cate Stillman @Elizabeth Stauder @Carman Murray @Valerie Hwang Beck @Nina Saacks @Paula Pister

Club Growth Live : Growing Your Club Through Strategy, Trust & Consistency
Meeting Recap : 04-03-2026 | Session by @Cate Stillman In this session, we explored the real challenges of growing a wellness business—balancing content creation, client conversion, and personal responsibilities while navigating uncertainty. The conversation highlighted that growth doesn’t come from perfection or external conditions, but from consistent action, clear strategy, and focusing on what you can control. From refining sales conversations and understanding lead flow, to building trust with ideal clients and leveraging existing content, the key theme was simplicity and momentum. Participants were encouraged to shift from overthinking to experimenting, using each interaction as a learning opportunity to strengthen their business foundation. What we covered: - Reframing external challenges (like the economy) into opportunities for growth - Understanding lead flow and the number of conversations needed for sales - Building trust and safety in client conversations to improve conversions - Using existing content instead of over-creating from scratch - Focusing on consistent, small actions to build momentum and community Key Takeaways - Business growth comes from consistent action, not perfect conditions. - Sales improve when trust and empathy are prioritized over pressure. - Clear lead and conversion targets help simplify your strategy. - Existing content is often enough to start—avoid overcomplicating creation. - Focusing on controllable actions reduces overwhelm and builds confidence. Next Steps - Define your weekly lead and sales conversation targets and track them. - Re-engage past or inactive members as potential low-hanging opportunities. - Use existing content to build your classroom instead of creating new from scratch. - Practice discovery calls with a focus on empathy, trust, and problem understanding. - Identify one simple action you can take daily to move your business forward. P.S. Momentum in your business comes from what you do consistently, not what you plan perfectly.

Really loved catching up on the recording. I resonated so much with what everyone shared, and it was such a good reminder that even if I can’t make the live call, taking the time to watch the replay is still incredibly inspiring and motivating. Feeling re-energised and ready to step back into lead generation and sales calls this month. Thanks everyone for your honest and open shares 🙏🏽🦋

Heal is the journey for me this month. Looking forward to seeing you all on the call on Monday.
I’ve been a little quiet here again, and I wanted to share why.
Things have been moving quite fast in an expected yet unexpected way. Some of the dreams and plans we started planting three years ago are definitely beginning to take shape. Which means the big move to the boat is happening in the next two weeks already!!! Inside this phase, I gave myself a full week to pause (declutter and pack as well). I used that time to review old journals, notes, and reflections from the last five years of being part of WPA and YHC. What surprised me wasn’t how much I still want to fix. It was seeing, in my own handwriting, how much I have already changed. How much more confident I’ve become How much more consistent I am with my healthy habits How much I’ve evolved in enjoying life, being creative, and spending time in nature. That bird’s-eye view shifted something in me. Instead of being inside the daily noise of what’s next, what do I need to do, and is this working, I really enjoyed stepping back and seeing the longer arc of growth… the mistakes, the refinements, the things that worked, and the deepening. It reminded me that we don’t always recognise our evolution while we’re in it. Consistency often looks very, very quiet. And leadership is built through actually living the work, not perfecting the plan (and making sure we have fun along the way!). This pause has given me clarity around simplifying my coaching model and returning to what feels most true, most beneficial, and most helpful for me, my current clients, and my future clients. And most importantly, it’s given me back my excitement, energy, and enthusiasm for the work I do. If you’re feeling a little stuck, maybe it’s not a push that’s needed… Maybe it’s a pause. And a chance to reflect on how much you’ve already grown. Here's to the last week of packing!

@Meghann Jacobs thanks for your update and I hope you also picked up some deeper insights from your weekend of sorting through your father's things. Not an easy process, but also one that probably brings a depth of insight, acceptance, understanding and love. I hope you manage to navigate it with a sense of ease. That you managed to navigate the pause and enjoyed some time to reflect. Sending much love 💞

@Cate Stillman thanks so much... our 5 year dream FINALLY coming into fruition... What I've learnt from you and through this process is that... If you don't have a goal or direction, you don't have a pathway to follow. If you don't know the critical issues, you won't be able to address them to take action and if you don't have yearly milestones, the whole process can seem way to daunting and prevent you from taking action... A dream is a good place to start 🌼🌱
Club Integrity ~ MIA members
Good Morning Y'all. Who's experienced a lack-luster member- in a really small club- and how did you address it? Backstory - I enrolled a member back in October before my family life erupted and had to postpone enrolling more members for a couple months. I treated her to private healing sessions during the pause- nearly the same cost of her 1/2 priced monthly club payment. She was also invited to three in person events per month- and attended none. In December I enrolled another member who is fully committed and engaged in the online coaching sessions, attending every in person event - which is currently open to the public, so she is also getting the promised community element- but this committed, engaged member doesn't have the accountability of the second member, nor do I! I've increased the frequency and methods of reminders, explicitly asked for her RSVPs and still she she's a no show. I've paid for rental spaces to host - just her- or held her seat in a sold out event only for her to flake with no notification - many times. She's shown up to one coaching call and one in person event out of nearly 15 total opportunities. I reached out to her specifically around her lack of engagement, scheduled and met her for coffee to discuss the challenge - didn't really have much to say accept that it's Winter and she likes to stay in. In all honesty, I can see that she's not the greatest fit for my Collective. She's a long time client who's received many private healing sessions and enrolled in a 3 month immersion which she also was less than enthusiastic about. She claims to have experienced so much growth and healing through our work, and is excited about this being her one big commitment this year. Yet, I'm not so sure. And honestly, I feel slighted by all the no shows! Especially when I have women on a waitlist to join in the fun. Thoughts anyone??

Hi @Meghann Jacobs , I really hear you. It can feel super frustrating and I second what Cate shared. I’ve had a member who stayed with me for a full year and barely showed up, even with gentle prompts for 1:1 catch-ups and reminders about group calls. She was just very busy and overwhelmed with work and life. Toward the end, she kind of faded out and wasn’t even able to make our final 1:1 to talk through options. I let it be. About six months later, she reached out and said she’d love to come back as a member as she got so much from the calls and the process and she felt she now has more capacity to engage. It reminded me that people find value in different ways, and sometimes in seasons we can’t always see. It’s helped me be a lot less judgmental and more focused on simply showing up regularly and to keep doing what I do best - supporting and inspiring. So maybe this is just her current pace and capacity with what she has going on and maybe that gets to be okay too. You’re doing a beautiful job holding the space. Let your focus be there and let her go at her pace.🦋
