Club Integrity ~ MIA members
Good Morning Y'all. Who's experienced a lack-luster member- in a really small club- and how did you address it? Backstory - I enrolled a member back in October before my family life erupted and had to postpone enrolling more members for a couple months. I treated her to private healing sessions during the pause- nearly the same cost of her 1/2 priced monthly club payment. She was also invited to three in person events per month- and attended none. In December I enrolled another member who is fully committed and engaged in the online coaching sessions, attending every in person event - which is currently open to the public, so she is also getting the promised community element- but this committed, engaged member doesn't have the accountability of the second member, nor do I! I've increased the frequency and methods of reminders, explicitly asked for her RSVPs and still she she's a no show. I've paid for rental spaces to host - just her- or held her seat in a sold out event only for her to flake with no notification - many times. She's shown up to one coaching call and one in person event out of nearly 15 total opportunities. I reached out to her specifically around her lack of engagement, scheduled and met her for coffee to discuss the challenge - didn't really have much to say accept that it's Winter and she likes to stay in. In all honesty, I can see that she's not the greatest fit for my Collective. She's a long time client who's received many private healing sessions and enrolled in a 3 month immersion which she also was less than enthusiastic about. She claims to have experienced so much growth and healing through our work, and is excited about this being her one big commitment this year. Yet, I'm not so sure. And honestly, I feel slighted by all the no shows! Especially when I have women on a waitlist to join in the fun. Thoughts anyone??

Hi @Meghann Jacobs , I really hear you. It can feel super frustrating and I second what Cate shared. I’ve had a member who stayed with me for a full year and barely showed up, even with gentle prompts for 1:1 catch-ups and reminders about group calls. She was just very busy and overwhelmed with work and life. Toward the end, she kind of faded out and wasn’t even able to make our final 1:1 to talk through options. I let it be. About six months later, she reached out and said she’d love to come back as a member as she got so much from the calls and the process and she felt she now has more capacity to engage. It reminded me that people find value in different ways, and sometimes in seasons we can’t always see. It’s helped me be a lot less judgmental and more focused on simply showing up regularly and to keep doing what I do best - supporting and inspiring. So maybe this is just her current pace and capacity with what she has going on and maybe that gets to be okay too. You’re doing a beautiful job holding the space. Let your focus be there and let her go at her pace.🦋
Habit Call and a Letter To Future You
I’m travelling again! (and it's good to be visiting my parents and pets again... and it comes with it's challenges as you're all well aware when we're out of our usual routine). There’s a lot of change and movement coming in this next quarter of my life, which I'm looking forward to sharing with you all. For now, I’m really aware of how grateful I am to have systems and structures to lean into. Structures Cate has created, taught and shared. They make it possible to keep showing up without having to start over each time. In my coaching call today, we wrote a letter to ourselves 10 years from now. Our future self. It was powerful for my group and it's been powerful for @Carman Murray's members too. Carman and I will be guiding you through this same practice in our habit call today. It's simple, grounding and has a way of bringing real clarity. We’re really looking forward to doing it with you and hope it's a practice you'll take into your clubs. See you later!

The Care Chair Practice
Today I was reminded of a practice I learned early in my YHC journey: the Care Chair. When a member completes a full year with me, we place her in the chair and use one simple sentence stem:“I appreciate you for…” Each person shares something small and true about how that woman has impacted them. And it’s so empowering every time we do it. We did this for one of my clients today, and it struck me again how community isn’t built through amazing content or strategy (these are great, but not the keystone). It’s built through time, presence, and being truly heard and acknowledged. Leadership doesn’t come from trying to be impressive. It comes from showing up long enough for others to feel your groundedness, steadiness and ongoing support. If you’re ever unsure how to close a quarter or a year inside your own community, this practice my favourite. It's simple, human and deeply connective. Self Reflection: If you were in the Care Chair today, what do you hope someone would genuinely say they appreciate you for? (sending love from the boat... the dream is starting to take shape...)

Focus
As we head into Focus Week, I’m curious—what are you focusing on? Is it a habit you’re wanting to build, or a project you’re ready to move forward on? 🤔 I chose a project. My intention is to finish recording my audiobook this week. Tonight, I sat down to begin again… and discovered my recording tent had been completely dismantled. One of the brooms my daughter had used to build it had been repurposed, leaving my once-cozy setup lopsided and falling apart. Cue overwhelm, discouragement, and frustration. After a brief (and very real) meltdown, I did some EFT tapping, gathered myself, and rebuilt—this time with chairs and blankets. 🥳 Tomorrow—which also happens to be my birthday—I’ll have the house to myself for most of the day. I’m planning to spend several hours recording and seeing how far I can get. I’m feeling optimistic because my space is set up, I can simply begin, and I even practiced some of the material tonight. So, what are you focusing on for Focus Week? @Tarna Fuller @Darlene Fermaint @Patrick Garlinger @Valerie Hwang Beck

Well done Carman and happy birthday 💃🏽🌼 My focus is sticking with my evening routine habits even whilst traveling this week. It’ll be tough, but I’m on a roll and hoping the momentum will pull me through!
