When these groups gain political leverage, they will use the democratic process to vote against the very values that define the West. They will use the tools of freedom to dismantle freedom. I have lived through the end of this movie, and the West is currently walking into the theater. This is not about being unkind. It is about survival. The first rule of rescue is that you must secure your own safety before you can assist others. You put your own oxygen mask on first. If the West destroys itself on the altar of performative empathy, there will be no life raft left for anyone.
