I’m Asking Americans to Stand With Rhode Island’s Immigrant Communities
My name is David Bedard, and I’m 16 years old. Even at my age, I’ve seen how deeply the presence of ICE affects families in Rhode Island. I’ve watched people in my community live with fear — not because they’ve done anything wrong, but because aggressive enforcement tactics can tear their lives apart without warning. Immigrants are a vital part of Rhode Island. They make up nearly 14% of our population and play essential roles in healthcare, hospitality, and local businesses. They’re our neighbors, classmates, coworkers, and friends. When ICE disrupts these communities, it harms the entire state — and it reflects a larger problem happening across the country. Research shows that ICE operations push families into hiding. Kids become afraid to go to school. Parents avoid hospitals even when they need medical care. People withdraw from public life because they fear being targeted. This isn’t the kind of country I want to grow up in, and I don’t think it’s the kind of country most Americans want to live in either. I’m asking for something simple: for Rhode Island to protect its residents by refusing to cooperate with harmful ICE practices and by adopting strong sanctuary policies. When people feel safe, they contribute more. When families are stable, communities thrive. When we choose compassion over fear, we all benefit. I may only be 16, but I believe young people have a responsibility to speak up when something is wrong. And right now, what’s happening to immigrant families in Rhode Island — and across the United States — is wrong. I’m asking Americans everywhere to stand with me. Please sign this petition and help push Rhode Island to take a stand for dignity, safety, and unity. Together, we can show the country what it looks like when a community chooses humanity over fear. https://www.change.org/ICEOUTOFRI
She risked her life to send this directly to me, trusting me to show the world.
Her message from inside Iran is clear: We stand with Israel, we want King Reza Pahlavi back, and we need President Trump’s help to end this regime. Here is what she said: "I speak from inside Iran to say that our leader is Prince Reza Pahlavi, and the people proved this by chanting his name in the streets facing bullets. King Reza Pahlavi, this is the final battle, Pahlavi will return. I also thank the people of Israel for standing with us, the people of Iran, in the Lion and Sun revolution; Am Israel Chai. Mr. President Trump, please help the people of Iran, attack this oppressive regime and overthrow it, and gift peace to the world. Thank you!"

Sydney nurses plead ‘not guilty’ for viral video threatening to kill Israeli patients
February 3, 2026 Today, 10:12 am Screen capture from an undated video of Israeli influencer Max Veifer during a conversation with two nurses from a hospital in Sydney, Australia. Two Sydney nurses accused of threatening to kill Israeli patients in a viral video last year pleaded not guilty, local media reports. Sarah Abu Lebdeh, 27, and Ahmad Rashad Nadir, 28, were seen in a viral video last February, allegedly showing them making threats against Israeli patients during a chat with Israeli influencer Max Veifer. The video sparked outrage across Australia and the Jewish world after it was released. The pair were later barred from working as nurses nationwide. At the Downing Centre District Court, both entered not-guilty pleas when asked by Judge Stephen Hanley to respond to charges of using a carriage service to menace, harass or offend. Abu Lebdeh also faces a charge of threatening violence against a group. Their trial is scheduled to begin on August 31, and is expected to run for five days. A pretrial hearing on the issue is scheduled for June 1. Nadir’s lawyer said he will challenge whether the video can legally be used in court as evidence.
