Understanding Your Body Beyond the Basics
I’ve been learning more about functional health testing lately and it’s been really insightful. I recently did some testing through Function Health, and it gave a deeper look at what’s going on inside the body — things like hormones, insulin, metabolic health, inflammation, thyroid function, nutrients/vitamins, and even cholesterol markers — so decisions can be more personalized instead of just guessing. I’ve seen how helpful this can be not just for me, but for a lot of women. It’s really about understanding your body on a deeper level instead of just following general advice. Curious — have you ever looked into this or done any kind of testing?

🌸 Hormones After 40 – Day 3: The “I’m Doing Everything Right” Feeling
Have you ever felt like… You’re eating pretty well You’re trying to stay active You’re doing what used to work …but your body just isn’t responding the same? That was one of the most frustrating parts for me. It wasn’t like I “let myself go.” It felt like my body just… changed the rules without telling me. Hormones can impact: - How your body uses energy - Where your body stores fat (hello midsection) - How full or hungry you feel - Even how motivated you are to stay consistent So sometimes it’s not about doing more… It’s about doing things differently. ✨ Small shift to try today: Before changing everything, focus on one anchor habit — like getting enough protein at your first meal or going for a short walk after dinner. Question for you today: 👉 Have you ever felt like your body isn’t responding the way it used to? A. Yes — and it’s frustrating B. Sometimes, depending on the day/week C. Not really, but I’m starting to notice small changes D. I’m not sure what’s going on with my body lately

🌸 Hormones After 40 – Day 4: The Mood Rollercoaster
One minute you feel fine… The next, you’re irritated, emotional, or just off—for no clear reason. That was one of the hardest parts for me. Not just feeling it… but not understanding why. Hormones can impact your: - Mood - Patience - Stress response - Even how you handle everyday situations And it can feel like you’re on a rollercoaster you didn’t sign up for. ✨ Small shift to try today: Before reacting, pause and ask: “Is this me… or could this be hormonal?” That awareness alone can change everything. Question for you: 👉 Do you ever feel like your mood or energy shifts out of nowhere? A. Yes — and it’s frustrating B. Yes — like a rollercoaster C. Sometimes, depending on the day D. Not really, but I notice small changes

🌸 Hormones After 40 – Day 2
Yesterday I shared how things slowly shifted for me in my 40s… Today I want to talk about two of the biggest hormones behind that: 👉 Estrogen (estradiol) 👉 Progesterone These are often the first to change in perimenopause. And honestly—for me, it was all of it. Weight gain (especially in my belly) Mood changes Low energy Trouble sleeping Hot flashes I just didn’t feel like myself. Here’s what’s happening (in simple terms): Progesterone starts to drop first → this can affect sleep and how calm you feel Estrogen starts fluctuating → this can impact mood, energy, and how your body stores fat 👉 It’s not just “low”… it’s inconsistent 💜 A few simple things that can help support your body: ✔️ Prioritize protein (especially earlier in the day) ✔️ Strength train a few times a week ✔️ Create a consistent sleep routine ✔️ Get morning sunlight + move your body daily Nothing extreme—just consistent. 👇 What has been the biggest struggle for you lately? A. Sleep B. Mood / anxiety C. Low energy D. Weight changes E. Hot flashes Drop your letter 👇
