Understanding Your Body Beyond the Basics
I’ve been learning more about functional health testing lately and it’s been really insightful. I recently did some testing through Function Health, and it gave a deeper look at what’s going on inside the body — things like hormones, insulin, metabolic health, inflammation, thyroid function, nutrients/vitamins, and even cholesterol markers — so decisions can be more personalized instead of just guessing. I’ve seen how helpful this can be not just for me, but for a lot of women. It’s really about understanding your body on a deeper level instead of just following general advice. Curious — have you ever looked into this or done any kind of testing?

Understanding Your Body Beyond the Basics
💪 Something I Never Thought I’d Do…
Chin-ups were always a goal of mine… but for years, I couldn’t do even one. Last year, at 50, I finally did it. Actually… I did 2. Now?👉 I can do 4. No extreme plan—just consistency over time. I’m sharing this because it’s easy to think, “maybe I can’t do that…”But you can get stronger. At any age. What’s a physical goal you’ve always wanted to achieve? 👇 💜

@Melissa Baker I love this goal 🙌 You don’t have to go all in—just starting with some walk + jog intervals is a great place, and strength training will really help your joints too. A half marathon might feel far off, but it’s not off the table 💜 And yes… I’m going for 10 chin-ups by the end of the year—let’s do this!! 💪
🌴 Would You Rather…
A. Spend a week in Maui, Hawaii ☀️ Morning beach walks + swimming 🏝️ Paddleboarding or snorkeling 🌅 Sunset walks to wind down B. Spend a week in Aspen, Colorado 🏔️ Hiking scenic trails 🚴‍♀️ Biking through the mountains 🧘‍♀️ Morning yoga with fresh air views Comment A or B 👇 (which one fits your vibe right now?) 😎

@Kimberly Brown Love it ⛰️💜 There’s just something about the mountains—fresh air, views, and that calm feeling you can’t beat. Are you more into hiking or just relaxing and taking it all in?

@Kimberly Brown That sounds absolutely amazing 😍💜 You can feel it just from the way you described it — the mountains really do have that extra kind of peace. And that view makes it even better 🙌 Now I want to go book a trip 😂
🌸 Hormones After 40 – Day 5: You’re Not Alone
If you’ve been reading these this week and thinking… “Okay, this is me.” Same. Because for a while, I didn’t feel like myself. Things slowly changed, and I couldn’t really explain it. My energy felt off My body felt different My mood wasn’t the same And I didn’t know why. This week wasn’t about fixing everything… It was about understanding what’s actually going on. And maybe realizing: 👉 You’re not crazy 👉 It’s not “just you” 👉 And there are ways to start feeling better again Even small changes can make a difference. Question for you: 👉 What stood out to you MOST this week? A. The symptoms finally make sense B. I’m not alone in how I feel C. Small changes can help D. I need to pay more attention to my body

🌸 Hormones After 40 – Day 3: The “I’m Doing Everything Right” Feeling
Have you ever felt like… You’re eating pretty well You’re trying to stay active You’re doing what used to work …but your body just isn’t responding the same? That was one of the most frustrating parts for me. It wasn’t like I “let myself go.” It felt like my body just… changed the rules without telling me. Hormones can impact: - How your body uses energy - Where your body stores fat (hello midsection) - How full or hungry you feel - Even how motivated you are to stay consistent So sometimes it’s not about doing more… It’s about doing things differently. ✨ Small shift to try today: Before changing everything, focus on one anchor habit — like getting enough protein at your first meal or going for a short walk after dinner. Question for you today: 👉 Have you ever felt like your body isn’t responding the way it used to? A. Yes — and it’s frustrating B. Sometimes, depending on the day/week C. Not really, but I’m starting to notice small changes D. I’m not sure what’s going on with my body lately

@Melissa Baker It really can feel like your body just changed overnight and no one warned you. You’re not crazy — so many women hit that phase around mid-40s. You’re doing the right things by paying attention now 👏
