Ever wake up in the morning and feel the collective swirl of energy around you and have this sinking feeling that the day is already sideways?
I don’t often have what I could label as a bad day… most are simply just days that you need to navigate.
Well, yesterday was quite a day. Everything that could go sideways did- from avoidable mistakes by one crew, a client not having water access set up for another, to a material delivery by my main vendor missing a key plant which killed the accomplishment of a planned project, to rain that mysteriously only hit where I was specifically working (2 towns over it was sunny all day- and there was no forecast for it) and of course the project required total dryness for the materials we were using, to getting my finger seriously bashed at the lumber yard, to complaints and frustrations by a couple of clients (which is super rare and I take really personally). Basically we finished 30% of what we NEEDED to accomplish as a result and we are already behind due to the show.
Well, the cherry on top of the day was while we were working at the tail end of the day on something around the studio, a tree came down on my truck…. (There was no heavy winds btw). While it’s drivable, it is dented and scraped to shit.
At that point I called it and went home, ate and simply went to bed. When you’re licked, you’re licked.
Here’s to today being a better one….
