My Lover check-in and commitment
Love check-in: my current intention is to continue supporting my partner Lana who has just moved into my house. This is a bit of a trial (we're both strong-willed, independent Aries!). Seeing as my cottage isn't exactly large, we're surrounded by chaos as we find homes for everything and agree what needs to go. My daily Lover commitment is to stay welcoming and help her work through feeling properly at home, and to resist my own deeply-ingrained desire to have everything squared away military-standard. That also calls for plenty of respectful and supportive communication and taking a real team approach to sorting things.

@Philip Folsom I think the most visible progress is making time to take stuff to the local recycling depot as well as what we can throw out. We're both earthcare freaks who try to avoid adding anything to landfill, so would rather upcycle or recycle. In a ritual sense, because we're both working from home as well, just wrapping work and taking a few moments at the end of day to acknowledge progress and affirm that things are feeling good will be important.
Some GOOD STUFF for y'all
Firstly, just dropped a new workshop for y'all in the classroom. It's an unpacking of the ancient masculine initiation story, Iron John. Must watch for men on the path toward the mature masculine psychology and a good watch for women who love men and are raising boys. Happy to chat about this with anyone on our Sunday calls. @Sarah Musgrove Secondly, we have a date set for Wolf Wisdom 16! This is our open program available to the public and takes place at the Apex wolf sanctuary and serves as a fundraiser for them. Flyer below and you can also message @Tanya Folsom for more info. Please share all this goodness with your tribe and feel free to invite them to this community. Will be great to get this journey out to more folks in the world which sure needs it these days. Lots of love and happy hunting.

This is such a good reminder. I read Iron John 15-20 years ago and I think a lot of it went over my head. But getting involved with men's work brought it back into focus and it landed strongly after this webinar. We've also been bringing it into our men's group as part of exploring our own Wild Man.
My Pack Hunt challenges
I'm new to this awesome community but @Emile Pretorius has just given me a great run-down. I'll get into the rhythm of things. But for starters, my great hairy goals (my pack hunt objectives) are to continue growing my strategy business (www.wolfstrategy.nz) and successfully launch a new business (www.culturate.nz) aimed at building healthier corporate cultures based on kinship and connection as a way of countering the universal anxiety, disconnection and loneliness out in the world. Specifically through my Lover energy, be a good partner to Lana, back my 3 amazing kids Tara, Cooper and Chelsea, look after my own health (which means keep pushing myself despite the injuries). Plus ensure my own wild wolf Billie (pic attached) is healthy, happy and safe.

2/14 check-in. A special reflection.
Today marks my 20th anniversary of self employment. Feels like a lifetime ago that I started my first company and the time that has passed has certainly included several chapters and versions of me - some good and some not so good- throughout this time. It’s been a journey filled with all the “journey” stuff you’d expect: pain and pleasure, success and failure, frustration and laughter, loss and gain and has taken a fair amount of determination, blood, sweat and tears to move through. Self employment, I have found to be a path of resistance, swimming upstream on most days, and has contained little life balance with plenty of moments leaving me wondering it the rewards match the risk. (But I guess so is life when you look at it) However, I wouldn’t change any of it. Because it’s that adversity, and my response, that has molded this moment. Created those moments of growth, whether I wanted them or not (more often not). Introduced those hard lessons that came from the failures, and successes. And I certainly would not have learned nearly as much as a tradesman, and artist, had I been contained by a creative box that working for others would have existed. Today on this Lovers Day in this Lovers Month, I reflect on what this moment means beyond the milestone time marker that this is. I reflect on ALL the moments that have carried me to this one and it really is love that has carried me through it all. My LOVE of nature. My LOVE of my craft. My LOVE of independence. My LOVE of challenge. My LOVE of dreams. My LOVE of self (well, now) AND The LOVE and support of my family The LOVE and support of my friends. The LOVE of my clients and colleagues. The LOVE of the Universe (it’s out to see you win) I have been so fortunate to have this path and still be on it. am excited to see where the next part of my creative journey will take me, and will welcome the adversity and challenges it takes to move through it. It’s all such a gift. So as I reflect here on all of this, I ask the question:

This is such a well-enunciated rationale for self-employment! I've been working independently for 8 years now. I'm probably unemployable anyway - just too restless and curious. But I wouldn't change it for anything. For me, love of my craft (sociology, behavioural science, strategy), love of my independence, love of challenge and having dreams that I want to make reality are what drive me. And baked into that is doing whatever I can to make the world even a tiny bit better - including a soul-deep love for and connection with nature.
Quick check-in
Hi all. Because I'm very new to the Wolf Tribe community (thank you again @Philip Folsom ) I'm going to get together with my brother Emile Pretorius who is going to run me through how the community works and how I can participate to get the most benefit. And I will most definitely watch the Iron John drop!
