Thursday check in
Spent the day at the VA getting a bunch of tests and stuff for lower back. Hitting that full force. Took the rest of the day off with a little prep for a program this weekend. Love to all.

Hope your back is making progress? Lousy being restricted that way, especially when you want to go full noise.
We are wounded in relationship and we are healed in relationship
Whole bunch of us are in the shit these days. It's also known as ashes when things have burned down and we are drawn into the cave where we are forced to do the grieving that we probably should have been doing for some time. Healing, like all forms of growth, involves other people. We need to be supported, held accountable and witnessed. This is a big part of tribe that is not as sexy as optimization but just as important. Both shit and ashes are necessary components of fertile soil in our garden and forest fires unlock the seeds for new growth.

I've come back and read this 4 times. Each time it hits harder. Particularly that healing requires other people. In order to heal, we must recognise, not deny our wounds. And that is not easy alone. Then if we are held in a basket of belonging, gently but firmly guided to take the steps across the coals, fed encouragement and challenge - and can look up and meet friendly eyes just when the heat hits unbearable - the courage and grit rises up so we can keep going. Being seen, really seen, by those gathered around us is rich nutrition for our spirit and our soul.
Post Men’s Wellbeing Summit check-in
Literally just back from the trip to Opoutere and three days of inspiring, deep, intuitive learning and enjoying the company of 50 fine brave openhearted men of all ages and lives. It was an absolute joy to share this experience with my close brothers Tony Flying Bear, Emile, Lyle and Charlie. I think we had the chance to drop into all of the energies but with a lot of sovereign, wise magician, nurturing lover and courageous warrior to be felt and experienced. Lots to digest and take forward!

@Philip Folsom There will be one. But in the meantime, the attachment is something I wrote when I was just getting into men's work...
Friday check in
Spent the morning at the VA getting some tests set up for my back issues. Got the dogs to the beach and my lunges in. Did not do my kingly work today.

@Philip Folsom I’m seeing your ramped up social media presence. Very visible, strongly relevant. Great job (and inspiring me)!

Hi Jackie. Yes I love Mary Oliver and David Whyte. But also Jim Harrison, Marge Percy, Anne Sexton, Robert Bly. Just for starters! Get a good rest…
