Where do you go when you just need peace and quiet?
For me, it’s the first few minutes of the morning. No shave, no shower, no coffee. Just me, unkempt and barefoot, stepping outside my house.... earthed, connected, quietly contemplating life...
...All I hear are the birds. Nothing interrupts the horizon. Just sunshine, space, and time to breathe.
Five minutes. That’s all it takes. Five minutes of nature to reconnect with who I am, why I’m here, and what I want to achieve.
It reminded me this morning of Churchill. He had his “quiet hour” where no one could interrupt him. Even the sound of typing was banned from his sanctuary of thought. Because we all need time to think. To reflect. To ask ourselves:
What’s really important today?
Not what’s in the diary. Not the avalanche of emails. Not the noise. But what really matters.
For me, it always comes back to three things. What three actions will move the needle today? For my family, my community, and my business. What three choices, if I make them today, will make tomorrow, next week, or even next year better?
Sometimes the answer is simple. Maybe it’s time with the family. Maybe it’s showing appreciation. Maybe it’s surprising someone you love.
But whatever it is, it matters. Because none of us know how long we have. And the legacy we leave isn’t written in words, it’s written in how we live.
So today, as you take your own moment of quiet, ask yourself:
👉 What three things will matter most for you?
