How My Student Got A $100k Remote Offer In 3 Weeks - Pedro Case Study
@Pedro Sousa is self-taught. Two months unemployed. Crippling imposter syndrome. He could build entire apps from scratch, but didn't feel "good enough" for US companies. Three weeks later? He passed ALL 3 interview processes and landed a $94K remote US job + 2 weeks PTO. Here's what changed everything 👇 Pedro was stuck in the worst kind of loop. He had the skills but was applying without strategy. He questioned if he was "too old" to break into tech. Every rejection reinforced the doubt. The turning point wasn't learning more frameworks or grinding LeetCode. It was personalized mentorship that focused on simple fundamentals. With guidance from me and my technical mentor Ivan, the first 10 minutes of Pedro's interviews completely transformed. Interviewers stopped testing him and started getting to know him. His confidence shifted from hoping he'd make it to knowing exactly what to do. Pedro said something that hit me: "Knowing the path is not walking the path. Even if you gave me a course instead of the calls... it doesn't work the same. Having a mentor makes such a big difference." That's exactly what I experienced myself in the beginning of my career. The fastest path to get where you want is talking to a person that's been through it all and can just give you direction. 3 interview processes. 3 weeks. Passed every single one. ✅ Want to see exactly what Pedro did differently? I sat down with him to break down his entire journey - the mindset shifts, the preparation strategies, and the specific changes that made interviewers lean in instead of test him. Full case study video is on YouTube. (Tagged in the post)
Finally Landed a Better-Paid Job!
Hey everyone, I’m a software developer from Berlin and wanted to briefly share something with you. Every time I searched for a new job, I struggled with self-doubt, imposter syndrome, and all that shit that comes with it! After chatting with Alex on LinkedIn and getting invited to the community, I went through all the content here—and it completely changed my mindset around job searching and how to talk to companies. I was able to land the perfect job for me, one where I can genuinely see myself staying for the next 2–3 years while building on my skillset. Initially, the company offered me (without knowing) exactly the same salary I had before, with a plan to increase it by 12.5% after 6 months and another 12.5% after the following 6 months. I managed to negotiate a completely different setup: -> a higher starting salary (a 20% increase compared to my previous job) -> followed by a 15% raise after 6 months -> and another 25% raise after the next 6 months That adds up to a total increase of 50% within one year. We also agreed to define clear career goals for each 6-month period, each tied to a salary increase. After the negotiations, they said they would need to think about it. I hounestly expected a counter-offer with a lower salary and different conditions. The next fucking day, they sent me the signed contract—with a flexible start date and a note hoping I could start as soon as mid-February. I’m still a bit shocked that this actually happened, but I now see the job market with completely new eyes! So thank you, Alex, for providing all of this information for free 🙏 And to everyone who’s still struggling: don’t give up and trust the process. It WILL happen 🥳
I started Dev School after getting laid off from a toxic job a year ago. Today we hit 1,000+ members...
Why did I start it? Why does it matter? Well, we know how hard the job market can be today. Developers are either undervalued or have no job at all. It's more competitive than ever even at the senior levels. Most people are getting ghosted or automatically rejected. And even if you manage to get an interview go thru their multi step process you still won't get feedback. You are bound to feel burned out or stuck... Why? Because the business doesn't care. It doesn't care if you have a rent to pay or a family to feed. Companies even have quotes for layoffs just to rehire on cheaper prices... I'd spent months in a place that drained every ounce of my energy. The kind of environment where you dread Monday mornings and your mental health takes a backseat to impossible deadlines. That's when I decided to start Dev School. Because it's getting harder and harder to get a fulfilling job that actually provides the security and the environment we desire. Today, I can just be greatful that you all made it possible. We helped a lot of people and we are looking to help even more. To celebrate it... I'm releasing all of my resources for FREE inside the community. Just go to the classroom -> start here section. Ask me questions! And let's change your situation.
From Rejection Loop to Dream Job Offer in Just 3 Weeks!
Meet Ligia - a web developer from Romania who was trapped in the most frustrating cycle every programmer knows: ❌ "You're great, but we found someone with more experience" ❌ Getting close to offers but never crossing the finish line ❌ Constant rejections with zero actionable feedback ❌ Drowning in self-doubt and negative thoughts Sound familiar? Ligia was ready to give up on tech completely. After just a month of mentorship, Ligia landed her dream remote job that lets her work from Romania and visit Barcelona once a month! Here's what we tackled: ✅ Fixed her interview intro - she knew something was off but had no one to ask ✅ Rebuilt her confidence for technical interviews ✅ Addressed job-hopping concerns that were red flags to employers ✅ Reality check on skills - identified actual gaps vs. perceived weaknesses ✅ Mental resilience - broke the cycle of post-rejection breakdowns My services described with her own words: "I had someone technical to talk to who actually understood. My therapist couldn't help with this, my non-tech friends assumed I wasn't good enough. Having someone who's been through this and works with developers daily was such a relief and miracle." Stop Suffering in Silence!!! If you're stuck in the rejection loop, getting "almost there" feedback, or ready to quit tech - you don't have to figure this out alone. Ready to break your cycle and land your next role? 📩 DM me "MENTORSHIP" and let's turn your rejections into your next success story. Your breakthrough could be just weeks away, like Ligia's was.
Applied yesterday, advanced today 🚀
I used to send out lots of applications, but my CV always got lost. It really hurt, and I started to think maybe I just wasn’t good enough. Then Alex helped me show my real strengths in my CV. After that, I applied to just one role and even with over 5,000 applications, they picked me to move forward. Most importantly, it gave me my confidence back. I’m really happy about this progress and deeply grateful to Alex for his support and guidance.
