Hi, my name is Tom. I am originally from Croatia, but living in the UK. I am a Full Stack Software Developer with Data Science training. I am a career changer, so this is my new life since 2023. I hope I would acquire skills and get tips I need to become fully employed soon. It's a tough job market.

Why did I start it? Why does it matter? Well, we know how hard the job market can be today. Developers are either undervalued or have no job at all. It's more competitive than ever even at the senior levels. Most people are getting ghosted or automatically rejected. And even if you manage to get an interview go thru their multi step process you still won't get feedback. You are bound to feel burned out or stuck... Why? Because the business doesn't care. It doesn't care if you have a rent to pay or a family to feed. Companies even have quotes for layoffs just to rehire on cheaper prices... I'd spent months in a place that drained every ounce of my energy. The kind of environment where you dread Monday mornings and your mental health takes a backseat to impossible deadlines. That's when I decided to start Dev School. Because it's getting harder and harder to get a fulfilling job that actually provides the security and the environment we desire. Mistake #1: Treating interviews like they're still junior developers I have 5+ years of experience, but I was still answering "Tell me about yourself" like a bootcamp grad... Senior interviews aren't about proving you can code!!! They're about proving you can lead, architect, and make decisions. "I've successfully navigated 5 different tech stacks and scaling challenges" sounds like expertise. Same facts, different framing. After fixing these mistakes I went from 8 rejections in a row to landing 3 senior offers in 6 weeks once I fixed these. The difference?
