Video discussion: "How I Made $989,308 (As A Lazy Person)"
  • The lesson here is important. Part of a Synthesizer's role is knowing where to find the the most valuable content on any topic. It's something I'm constantly trying to do. You want to find content topics you love so much that it's fun to stay for you on the cutting edge of knowledge on that topic.
  • I tried my new video format again. It's fun for me to make, and it's unique, which is a valuable venn diagram. Plus the constraint of only using my laptop has made it easier for me to come up with fun ideas. E.g. I could make the next video by recording my screen of me in a Zoom call. Would make it feel as if the viewer is on a Zoom call with me. Also I think it makes for unique thumbnails...
  • I think a great video structure is: hook, story, lesson (you learn the lesson through the story). Humans are emotional, not logical. So if you want to teach someone a lesson, you have to appeal to their emotions. Plus, telling stories from your own life helps your audience emotionally realise you're a real person, which is a good thing. I think a Synthesizer is someone who is good at telling stories from their own life, and sharing the lessons that they learned from the story.
  • I think there are things I could do better: I think there could be something better in the thumbnail than "$989,308". It just repeats the same information that's in the title. Doesn't create any more curiosity. Plus I think the story is good, but not great. Let me know what you think of the video?
