Andrew Kirby's Shorts (+ Bonus! Iman Gadzhi compare/contrast)
For those who didn't notice, Andrew & company have been on a firestorm of getting a bunch of new shorts out on the channel & it's a great example to see for people who want to see how the Synthesizer School Professor himself does it.
______________
They're good.
______________
Bonus!
I also looked at Iman Gadzhi's stuff & I noticed 𝒐𝒏𝒆 primary difference (𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘣𝘦𝘤𝘢𝘶𝘴𝘦 𝘐 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘥 𝘎𝘢𝘥𝘻𝘩𝘪 𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘦𝘥 𝘢𝘴 𝘢 𝘴𝘰𝘭𝘪𝘥 𝘦𝘹𝘢𝘮𝘱𝘭𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘦𝘮𝘶𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘐 𝘤𝘢𝘯'𝘵 𝘧𝘪𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘱𝘰𝘴𝘵 𝘒𝘪𝘳𝘣𝘺 𝘤𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘪𝘯 𝘧𝘪𝘳𝘴𝘵)
Utilizing subtle visual persuasion, he is clearly invoking more wealth envy (𝘢𝘭𝘣𝘦𝘪𝘵 𝘪𝘯 𝘢 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘤𝘭𝘢𝘴𝘴𝘺, 𝘭𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘰𝘣𝘯𝘰𝘹𝘪𝘰𝘶𝘴 𝘸𝘢𝘺, 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘦𝘹𝘢𝘮𝘱𝘭𝘦, 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘯 𝘛𝘢𝘵𝘦). I've had a feeling these more base invocations and flashes of glamorous imagery may play more powerfully with a "shorts" audience (similar to Instagram) than long-form content -- but this of course will change the quality / type of the audience.
So there definitely can be a cost : benefit analysis in deciding what to go for.
Depends on the goal.

Bottom line for me:
  • Take all the good ideas you have
  • They'll be woven into longer content at some point
  • You can cut & clip them from there
  • It seems way less important for them to be "perfect" (well-packaged into a 1 minute video) and it can even be advantageous to not fully "finish" the idea (may make the audience want to seek out the longer-form content / find out what video it was from, etc.)
  • I like this more, because the main creative thing I suffer from is how to package and organize the ideas.

𝗦𝗵𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗳𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 -- tiny ideas!! The best ideas are often literally things that fit on flash cards and sticky notes. So work it like that.
