🎥Your mix might be killing your sync chances.
Found a YouTube channel that's genuinely useful for sync work: Film and TV Without Music. The concept is simple - film and TV clips with the music stripped out. No score, no underscore, just the scene. Why does that matter? Because one of the hardest things to train your ear for is where your music needs to sit so it's not fighting dialogue. You can't hear that problem until you're actually placing tracks underneath real scenes with real speech frequencies. The workflow I mentioned to @David Goode : pull a clip from a show that fits the mood of your cue, drop your track underneath it, and listen for where the frequencies compete. Mid-range is where dialogue lives. That's where most sync rejections are hiding, and most composers never find it until a supervisor tells them. This channel also gives you raw material to score to picture, which is one of the fastest ways to understand how editors actually use music - and what makes a cue work or fall apart in context. Link in the comments. Go mess around with it. https://www.youtube.com/@FilmandTVWithoutMusic-um9wd

🎊Weekend Challenge - Take Action Toward a placement🎊
Pick Your One! Look at your catalog right now. Pick the single track you believe is the most sync-ready. Not your favorite. Not your best produced. The one most likely to fit under a scene without fighting the picture. By Monday, post in the community: The track title, what type of scene you'd place it in, and one thing that might be holding it back from being submitted today. Let's go! PS...happy friday!

🏀Tuesday Quick tip: Here's how to know when a track is actually finished — in 5 minutes.
Most music creators never define "done." So they keep tweaking indefinitely, or worse, they pitch tracks that aren't ready. Here's the fix: before you start a track, write down 3 criteria it has to meet before it leaves your hard drive. Mood locked in? Check. No elements clashing together make the mix problematic? Check. You'd pitch it to a sync agent or library today without hesitation? Check. That's your definition of done. Set it before you record note one. If it doesn't hit all three, it's not done. Simple as that.
