Latin style beat
What’s going on everyone, it’s been a while since I posted anything and I wanted to share something interesting with you all. This is a lot different than what I was previously making. However I love it, I had a conversation a while back that helped me change my view on sync. What I came to realize is I didn’t necessarily need to change who I am and what I create. So today I’m presenting a Latin style beat that I produced. If you all would be so kind to leave me some honest feedback. My biggest question for you all is do you believe it is sync ready? Why or why not? I made this a little different than a traditional beat it doesn’t have a normal song structure on purpose. I still plan to work on some cinematic projects but for now I want to focus on what I can get done now. So I can build my catalog. Hope you enjoy. Key questions: does it fit the style of music I was trying to convey. Still a little new to this genre and I feel like it may be missing a few elements. Based on your experience is this ready to pitch to a sync libary? How are the dynamics, does it need more ā€œspaceā€ or spots with no noise? One of my biggest concerns with this is the flute melody is there anyway I could improve it, or does it fit? I was trying my best not to over complicate it. Finally, how does the mix sound? I have done some basic eq and very little effects it sounded good to me. However I would love to hear your thoughts on it. https://s.disco.ac/lyyeoxtjqmiw

@Jacob Quaife that’s a great way to look at it. I was holding out on this at first but I remember what Glenn had told me if it’s already exported it’s ready to share. And yea the average listener won’t be able to pin point the finer details

@Glenn Macrae loving this feedback, just what the doctor ordered. I definitely feel you on the crash I had so many mixed feelings about that sound, but all the other ones I had sounded so fake and processed. I do like the idea with the shaker kinda will give it that extra groove and make it sound less robotic. Furthermore I will work on the vibe to it, was definitely shooting more towards an upbeat dance vibe. I was also keeping the structure for that one track in mind. Definitely was pushing towards the tv lane over the artist. However even with all the new additions I can add I feel like it can be utilized for both. Challenge accepted Glenn I will reflect and go back to it in a day or 2 so I have fresh ears.

A little late to the party šŸ˜…. I would have to say my win for the week was finishing a couple tracks I have been working on. I also managed to wrap up some critical file management that needed to be done, still a working progress but we are getting somewhere. Recently I have working with a few different ppl and artist in my life creating some amazing ideas, and hopefully soon I will have some collaborated work done to share with everyone.

@Tim Jeffcoat lol it is a tedious process mine is so bad it’s been taking so long to get it together. But we got this one file at a time 🤣
šŸ‘€What are you actually working on right now?
Been quiet on my end. Let's fix that. What's the biggest thing you've been working on in your sync catalog this week? Drop it below. No context needed, just tell me what you're building.

@Jamie Fontaine-Ellis and I have been working on a few projects šŸ˜Ž what started out as brainstorming through the beat vault, has slowly turned into some interesting collab ideas. Also rekindled a few relationships from my past that want to work on a few projects, one is a local artist from Louisville. The other is a really good friend of mine in New York, we are working to put together a song that we could use for a sync library.

@Glenn Macrae I’ll have something to show you later, but you know we had to. This about helping each other grow, also one of the best ways to kill beat block is to collab with other creatives.
Does AI have any place in music production?
Just curious how many of you out there have dabbled, or are currently dabbling with AI tools to assist in creating music? As a computer tech, it is a no brainer to me to experiment and see what they are capable, and not capable of. It seems the world has split in various camps on it. I'd just like to see where you all sit on it, thoughts and opinions.

Honestly this is always an interesting subject. Because for me I believe it’s personal preference. I do like a lot of the tools they have out there, some are very interesting. I tried a few of the unison plugins, they were ok for getting ideas but it kinda took the fun away you know. Now on the flip side I have used ai like Gemini or chat gpt to explore ideas or maybe figure out what key would be great to use if I was trying to write a specific kind of music. Maybe learn what kind of instruments would work well for that particular genre. I feel like if you are using to help boost creativity it helps. But it still doesn’t take away from having to do the work. Instead of letting the ai make the composition I use it as a guide or reference to help create my own idea if that makes sense.
Feedback for Folk? Americana? Ish?
Hey everyone! Hoping to receive some feedback for a track I produced for my husband's band! This is my first time working on a song that isn't written by me since learning so much in the Sync Accelerator Program, so I'd like to see what other things I may be able to improve on working in other genres! https://s.disco.ac/aktdjrplbjvu Some notes: -It's a three piece band: two guitars (sometimes a banjo, but for this song it's two guitars) an upright bass, and male vocals -Not mixed yet because I'd like to see what suggestions you have before starting the mixing process. -I just noticed some background noise at the very end of the track. It's not intentional and will be removed haha. -References/inspirations of the band are Poor Man's Poison and Amigo the Devil. I included some Youtube videos below in case ya'll want to listen! Questions: -What genre would you consider this? The band is having a hard time categorizing themselves because they are unsure what people would consider this.

This is amazing Jenifer! Very unique and I absolutely love the name of the song. What would I categorize this as? Probably folk for sure, definitely has a bit of a country tone to it as well. Truthfully the mix sounds really good where it is. I believe if you pitched this song right now, it would definitely work in the right situation. That’s just my thoughts on it.
