New for 2026!
Gentlemen and Lady Renee Migner 2026 will be the greatest year for the Society and I hope that everyone will strive to help advance the causes of the community through their efforts. We can only thrive if all its members are on board with its mission and vision. With that being said, I officially would like to announce some changes to our Society. I am proud to announce our Society is now officially an unincorporated nonprofit association and the name “The Society of Ordinary Gentlemen” has been secured and officially belonging to our community. This process has taken me a couple of months to achieve. I am also weighing the option of apply for a 501c(3) status. This option will have substantial cost and is a long process to obtain. I am very honored to officially name @Renee Migner as the “First Lady of our Society”. This title honors the grace, support, and positive influence she brings to our community. We also now have a mission and a vision statement along with a constitution: Mission: To cultivate modern gentlemen by teaching skills, habits, and mindsets that elevate personal style, communication, health, and lifestyle through community, courses, and mentorship. Vision: To become the go-to online community for individuals seeking to live with sophistication, confidence, and discipline. The constitution is posted in our classroom. Thank you to @Rene Belhume and @David Zandar for the creation of these I would also like to announce the creation of “Gentlemen’s Patronage Day” which will be put on the calendar on the 10th of every month and will serve as a reminder that everyone should consider donating to the Society to help advance our purpose. Starting today, “The Gentlemen’s Marketplace” is officially open. This will have various items that might be needed by members of our Society. The link to the Marketplace is https://www.etsy.com/shop/SocietyOG. All proceeds will benefit and advance of our Society. I will also be asking for suggestions and might need to take advance orders on some things that need to be ordered in bulk. This marketplace is in no way intended to make a profit, but it is here along with donations to sustain the society and advance the movement of teaching skills, habits, and mindsets that elevate personal style, communication, health, and lifestyle. Along with the marketplace, I have put some free digital downloads which includes our logos and printable business cards so that you can invite people to into the society through the QR code.

A Fabulous Gift!!!
Today I received this incredible gift from @Stephen Arnold . The BOLO with our Emblem (Seal, Stamp, Motto etc). This Bolo from the Owner of our Society has a special and sentimental in my heart; Scott had been searching to find me a Bolo with our seal. Scott became so frustrated he told me in September about his intentions. I seriously doubt that Scott ever communicated any of this to Stephen. Kinda wonder how things happen...

Are You in the Right Place
Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen, As we all embark on the journey together in 2026, let’s remember why we are here. No one is here by accident, in fact looking at the membership roster, most were invited by another member. That means that someone identified you and selected you to be apart of this society. And the fact that you accepted the invitation means that you saw something in this Society Of Ordinary Gentlemen that made you want to join. So what does this mean? It means that you made a commitment to adhere to the rules and bi laws of this society and that you will support and defend not just the Society of Ordinary Gentlemen but the members of this elite society. How do you support this elite society? By following the rules and policies of this society. By referring only those that you feel will be an asset to this society. By respecting and supporting the other members of this society. Listen your thoughts and opinions matter, that is why you were given the right hand of fellowship and extended the opportunity to share your thoughts, experiences, and ideas with other like minded individuals. We don’t need people act like they’re playing Call of Duty by clicking constantly like they are shooting to kill their opponent. Anyone can click, but it takes real ladies or gentlemen who is willing to discuss and share and current events, styles, customs, and other topics. You were selected and by random drawing, we value you and what you have to offer to this society. So here’s the thing, get involved, ask questions, voice you opinions, share your experiences, and your knowledge, and learn from others stop in on SOG video Meetings held weekly. And if you feel strongly about this society, donate whatever you can financially, I can assure you that any money that comes does not go to finance some livelihood of a sponsor or their family. This money is use to run this platform to help maintain the security and integrity of this site so people feel safe and comfortable in their interactions. There are not salaries, bonuses, going to anyone in this society. But any monetary remaining after the cost maintaining this platform will be used for the betterment of this community. Whether it’s to support a charity in name of the this society, or to send flowers to a sick member or to the family of a lost society member. It is a donation not a or else

Hobby: Foreign Languages
I've mentioned here and there that though I'm not fluent in languages other than English, I dabble in several to a functional extent. Having been raised by an Austrian grandfather and French grandmother, I picked up enough to get in trouble. As I aged, I explored others; Japanese, Turkish, Russian, Latin, Spanish, Arabic... If you're a fellow polyglot, I highly recommend the app HelloTalk. It's free to an extent, and only $12/mo for unlimited translation and several other features. I've used it on and off for the last decade, and it's been quite an enriching experience. It's not just a language exchange, but psychological, and learning what friendship means to different cultures. Yes, I've been spending less time here in S/OG, and what isn't dedicated to work and family, I dedicate to my hobbies. Most recently, I've been brushing up on Russian again. Despite all the negative flak they get, they're some of the kindest people I've ever spoken with. They also don't ghost anywhere near as much as others. Put in the effort, and they check on you if it's been a few days. Also, today, Jan 7th, is their Christmas (Orthodox). Their Santa likes to make house calls and party... enough to make Billy Bob Thornton as Bad Santa blush. - Who else here is studying foreign languages? - Which ones? - Why? - What are your most memorable exchanges?

🎉National Resolution Planning Day🎉 Ever get that restless feeling when the year’s winding down? Like something’s ending, but you’re not quite ready for the next thing? That’s where National Resolution Planning Day steps in. It’s not about pressure or big promises. It’s simply a nudge to think ahead—calmly, clearly, before the rush of January hits. You don’t need a perfect plan. Just a moment to breathe, reflect, and sketch out what you actually want from the next chapter. There’s something comforting about naming your goals before the crowd starts shouting theirs. It gives your plans a little space to grow on their own. Friends swap ideas, families talk dreams, and even strangers might pause to think a bit deeper. Setting intentions early helps turn vague hopes into something real. One simple list can lead to better choices, steady habits, and a clearer direction once the year kicks off.
