I need some honest advice
I just received this hat back from getting a total restoration at McLaughlin & Hayes in Milwaukee wi. I've spent a fortune on this hat and I don't know what to think about it. On the face of it, the hat material is fur felt and looks like velvet. Photos cannot capture the look accurately. It is rich and unlike anything I've ever seen. My issue is, since it is a hat from post WWll mid to late 1940s the crown is very very high. I had it blocked a little lower but still feel like it looks too tall. I can't decide if it is just me, or if it looks bad, too tall or maybe that idea is so in my head I can't see anything else. Brothers, this is a time to be honest. What are your opinions?? I am not looking for compliments, I am looking for honest thoughts.

From a cowboy hat guy to you, I actually think it’s a bit small , just looking at your facial structure and your shoulders, it looks a tiny bit off. But then again if u had the same color coat and vest and tie it would look diff going from up to down. Right now your hat stands out kinda to itself . U can always buy yourself a steamer and reshape it but be careful . Im getting ready to steam and shape a cowboy hat I just recieved

So back story part So about every 5 to 7 years I invest in a better cowboy hat than the one I have . So I have a 3x,4x,5x,6x, and 8x It’s now been longer than my usual time for a new cowboy hat. And what I’m about to share is something only God could do. Cause even though it was on my heart now for a while for a new hat I know because of other bills and wife’s medical stuff and getting the vehicles fixed I couldn’t even begin to think about spending money I don’t have. Anyways yesterday after church and groceries , we were on the way home when a couple (whom we have grown close to over the last 5 or so years ) got ahold of us and said a cousin of theirs gave this to them and they asked if I’d like to have it. So we told them yes and before my wife left for her doc a lot today she stopped and picked it up It’s a 10x beaver fur black cowboy hat with leather band and horse hair end. This is easily an $800 cowboy hat. It is going to need to be steamed and the brim and sides shaped a bit

Feet/leg/arm massage machine
Idk if I’ve ever posted about this. 2 years ago my wife got me this as an anniversary present and after a hot shower it really helps relax the feet , my back leg muscles and then I put it on the table and it can do my arm muscles.
