Speeeeeeeeeeed!!!
Drivers (or leads for any type of job) who speak to a recruiter the same day they apply are nearly 2x more likely to show up to orientation. Wait until tomorrow? Hire probability drops 30–40%. Wait 3 days? Most never convert. Speed isn’t pressure. Speed is clarity. Speed matters!!!
Check These Stats Out!
Lead Contact Rate By Response Time • 0–5 Minutes: 60–70% Contact Rate • 5–30 Minutes: 30–40% • 1+ Hour: 10–15% Executive Takeaway: Most “Bad Leads” Aren’t Low-Intent Drivers. They’re The Result Of Slow Follow-Up. Speed Creates Conversations. Conversations Create Hires.

When you advertise to everybody, you are advertising to nobody.
"Most recruiting teams do not have an ad problem; they have a clarity problem. Drivers are not confused. They are filtering." No one cares about an inspection bonus or unrealistic outcomes being promised in your ad. You need clear, transparent ads. If you post an amount, then make sure you "up to" or the "top earners make" etc. A GREAT way to write your ad is to just ask yourself this: "What's your elevator pitch to a driver? Why would you want to drive for _____?" Then answer it in an ad format for yourself. If you can't answer it yourself, then you will have a rough time getting drivers from it.

Confirming Your Driver Fridays!!!
Lots of companies hold Monday Orientations, which means your drivers will be traveling over the weekend to get there. Friday is a big day to confirm that your driver has had contact with the transportation coordinator, has bus/train/uber information, and that they are clear on times and what they are expected to do. I always walk my drivers through checking confirmation codes on their phones, bus/plane schedules and tickets, and answer any questions they may have. If I don't know the answer, I make sure to contact the transportation coordinator to get them answered! This is why it's so important to make sure everything is confirmed on Friday, while everyone is still working!!" CONFIRMATION FRIDAYS!!!!

Talking money with drivers.....
Of course, one of the top bits of info that a driver wants to know right off the bat is MONEY. Some drivers want a CPM (cent per mile) quote or death!!! But, here's the thing, sometimes the CPM doesn't tell the story of income very clearly at all, and here's why: Say I was paying $1.00 per mile to my drivers!! That sounds pretty amazing, right? Especially since the average pay is between $.55-.75 cpm, depending on what state you are in and what you're hauling. Well, if you take that as "I'm going to be rich!!," you'd be missing a lot of info! If I only was able to give you 500 miles a week all of a sudden that doesn't look so rich! Or if it was a 1099 position, and you'd be responsible for all your fuel, insurance etc. Or, if you were making 25 stops a week to manually unload the TOUCH FREIGHT and you could only drive limited miles weekly. The point is there are MANY sides to the "how much does it pay" question and they all matter! CPM is by far not the most important question to ask when trying to get a good idea how much money a position will pay and how much a driver can expect to have in their pocket every week. Try to educate your drivers (lots will already know!) and yourselves on all the parts that go into "how much," and you'll know how to sell any position!
