Assalamu Alaikum Everyone, In today’s weekly session Dino briefly touched upon the types of patterns that some of us may fall into and how each of those affect us in social interactions and the potential consequences that may arise from acting on them. Dino then moved onto the topic of word retrieval. Specifically, trying to find the right words to say when our mind goes blank. This is a flaw which commonly appears when I communicate with others and may be a common flaw amongst others aswell. Dino explained what occurs internally when we experience this and that processing load has an impact on the extent our word retreival. To test ourselves, Dino gave us a task where we generate a random word and attempt to name as many synonyms we can find for that word. This proved beneficial as it allowed me to understand more about how fast I can think when put on the spot which allowed me to identify that this is now something that requires work. Overall, this session was very helpful and I look forward to attending more and reflecting on them. If you are interested in joining these sessions, I’d highly recommend you do as it provides a space to put any skills learned into practice which is in my opinion the best way to improve (Practice Makes Perfect).
