Today’s Weekly Session Reflection (19.04)
We started off today’s session with a brief rundown of what week 2 entails. We looked at the many ways our patterns formed. In my case, school and general interactions played a huge part in me becoming a shrinker due to constantly replaying certain moments in my head. We then moved onto the roleplay aspect of today’s call which focussed on how we act under pressure and there was no better way to do this than a Cold call pitch. We started off pitching for a productivity app (Anti Brainrot) and this was done in 2 ways. The first way was for the prospect to agree with our pitch and make it smooth sailing for the pitcher. This was to see how we communicate in general. The second way was for the prospect to give the pitcher a bit of a hard time through hesitation, blankness and disagreement to see how we can improvise in pressured situations. This was extremely helpful for me as I now know what to improve on, For example, for the first way, Dino noticed that I started grouping my sentences together and speaking fast which would have led to the caller feeling completely lost and or overwhelmed and I sadly repeated this on the second one. Nonetheless, this gave me good insight on what to improve on for future interactions and situations in which I may encounter this. If you want to improve on the ways you communicate or struggle to know what your commumication flaws are, I’d highly recommend you join these calls as not only to they provide great practice, but they also allow you to know what you could improve. Little reminder, communication is like anything else practice makes perfect (There’s always room for improvement).

Great meeting you bro and you smashed it!
Role play session
Joined my first weekly session yesterday and learned a lot from Dino and the two brothers I was role-playing with. The session was a Dragons’ Den style exercise where we had to pitch a social media blocker app. The feedback I got in the first round really helped and improved my pitch instantly. I’m a perfectionist, so if I mess up, I tend to start again, but I realised with the feedback that slowing down and continuing keeps you in control. It showed in the second round. It wasn’t perfect, but the mistakes were less noticeable because I didn’t panic from the start. Overall, it was a great session, definitely regret not starting sooner.
