Funny how things are connected. As with my Aikido journey I would find myself, feeling the hips, knees, ankles, feet while moving /or shoveling/ or pushing the lawn mower; maintaining and extending the centerline while preparing dinner, feeling the shoulders settle draping from the center; tracing the steering wheel to get the feel of circular arm movement while maintaining a tall center during the drive.
I find myself starting to do the same things after Qi Gong / Tai Chi practice - feeling full foot pressure, the foot ankle, knee, hip while moving around the kitchen, feel yourself settling as you reach for something. We had a snow storm yesterday and I spent 3 hrs. moving snow - I think we should develop a move set called "Moving Snow" LOL!! While doing this I started to feel the difference from mindless shoveling to mindful shoveling - feeling full foot pressure, pushing and throwing from the feet, breathing out on the throw , attempting to balance and coordinate the three. Anyone else find themselves practicing without practicing. This is just how I approach things. Somatic, present intention and then back to just doing things.
