CDOD: ownership income opportunity?

I found another hypnotherapist like myself on skool who has a small size group of 174 (but not so active in the threads) of people who pay monthly for access to his weekly weight loss and emotional eating/belief rewiring hypnosis sessions that are recorded.

I was looking to have a similar monthly group of peeps I could do weekly sessions for (but live on zoom rather than recorded) and monetize ronin style and I was thinking this would be a good acquisition target.

even better when I see him posting in the last 2 weeks about being busy with investment developments but still committed to providing these sessions for his members.

So the motivation might be there. Right now it is a $5k monthly income stream for him with 174 at $29 a month. And he does custom recorded sessions for $1997 and a 90 minute consult.

He played with a premium tier of $49 lifetime? it looks like but backed away from that.

What would be the best way to open up a conversation with him about seeing his interest in selling the group?

Only question is if his members have gotten so used to his voice and his style that a new owner would drive many of them away? They are members of that group because he IS the brand.

A few of you have mentioned concerns about the level of activity in the group, and I completely understand that. Community energy matters.

I also want to share what’s happening on my end.

Right now, my family and I are in the middle of developing our investment property into a residential subdivision. It’s a large-scale project with multiple residences, and it requires a significant amount of focus and decision-making.

It’s a once-in-a-lifetime profitable opportunity for our family, and I have to give it the attention it deserves.

That said…

Creating hypnosis sessions for you is something very different for me.

It’s meaningful. It's spiritually fulfilling and it's something I genuinely love doing.

But trying to actively manage daily conversations, lead threads, and run the community at a high engagement level - while balancing development meetings, family life with two teenagers, creating custom hypnosis sessions for clients, and everything else - has simply become more than I can sustainably handle right now.

So in order to prevent burnout, here’s what this means:

• The hypnosis sessions will continue (I'll be finishing the next session today).

• The quality will remain high.

• The mission hasn’t changed.

What may change is the expectation that I’m constantly active in discussion threads.

I built this space as a resource library and transformation container - not as a high-chatter social group.

Honestly, I've never been the highly sociable type (I'm working on it 😉) If conversations grow organically, that’s wonderful. But the core value here will always be the sessions and the work itself.

I deeply appreciate those of you who are here and doing the work quietly. Transformation doesn’t require noise - it requires consistency.
