Get paid per FLOW not by the HOUR
Tapping Flow for Income...
At our Serve No Master shindig in Little Rock…
One of the KEY perspective shifts I wanted people to go home with was a brand new vision and plan for producing passive income.
Most of the world gets paid by the hour, week, month or some kind of retainer set up.
They get paid for the work they do.
Then for financial independence…
All the have to do is live on less than they earn and save.
After fifty eleven years…
They can put their Millie or two in the market and live off that.
No sweat.
What could go wrong?
Well…
I didn’t want to wait the fifty eleven years.
And Jeannie, god bless her…
…got tired of holding the hood open (with a yellow mop handle) and jiggling wires on the 14-year-old 83 Lincoln Town car to get it to start…so we could “save” money.
Getting paid by the hour for working hard may work for some...
And I didn't want my wife to hat to keep "jerking off" the Lincoln on 95-degree Arkansas humid days.
Nobody was more glad than Jeannie 😁when I figured out how to get paid by FLOW...
I'd find a flow of people or transactions...
...and I'd figure out how to get in front of them on a long-term basis...
I'd TAP INTO the flow.
(BTW: This was my first meaning of "TAP.")
There are more ways to do this than you can shake a stick at...
But all have the same ingredients:
👉A flow of people (online or off)...
👉A person (entity) who controls access to the flow
👉A win/win/win "TAP." A tap is an "offer" inside the flow that people can take action on (or not). It is a win for the person who controls access to the flow, it's a win for the people in the flow and it's a win for the person(s) on the other side of the "tap".
The ingredients are simple...
Putting them together in the right order took many failures and practice.
But fail I did.
Practice I did.
I earned as I learned.
My first taps were offline...or offline to online taps...
For example...
I'd pay to print up a restaurant owner's carry-out menus if I could put an ad on them for Dish Network.
I could print up 5000 or so for $250.
I got paid ~$120 for each signup.
On good days, I'd get several sign-ups a day...
FROM EACH RESTAURANT (Tap)...
(I eventually figured out ad Co-ops, so I didn't even have to pay for the printing because I got other businesses to pay! 😁)
To increase my income...
I didn't have to work more hours...
I just had to tap into another FLOW!
I got paid per FLOW.
I still do to THIS DAY!
I've got way more efficient with it.
WAAAY MORE!
Now...
When I share my old-school examples, people sometimes get mad at me. 😡
"I KNOW THIS ALREADY SAGO!"
And if they are STILL WORKING and getting paid by the hour/retainer etc...
I'd say...
With pure love in my heart...
"NO. You. Fucking. Don't."
Because if they did...
❌They'd never go back to getting paid by the hour WORKING!
Just like...
❌Nobody goes back to using a rotary dial phone when there are touch screens.
❌Nobody takes a horse and buggy across the U.S. when there are airplanes.
❌Nobody sends much snail mail to friends when they can text.
When you want more income...
After they REALLY UNDERSTAND "tapping"...
They...
✅Tap into another Flow
They do NOT...
❌Get another job. Take on another client. They don't even take on a pain-in-the-ass partner.
Today...
In 2024, nearly 2025...
The flows are more numerous than ever.
I'd say even EASIER to tap into than ever.
So many influencers.
Which means...
So many taps.
Which means...
So many income streams.
💸On Tuesday last week...
I spent about a 1/2 hour showing a gent how to set up some taps for BUYER traffic.
Spending NO MONEY!
By Friday...
... he'd already set up TWO deals.
This is something ANYBODY can do.
👉They need an insightful piece of long-form content. (It doesn't need to be theirs.)
👉They need access to a flow by applying the B.A.D Method (Keep reading.)
👉They need a monetization path.
Once these taps are set up...
The buyer flow will continue for months and YEARS!
There are MULTIPLE ways to monetize:
He can use the buyer flow himself.
He can sell the leads to others.
One of the smartest moves right now (IMO)...
💸Show them a tool or software that saves them time, money, or energy and get a percentage every single month they use the tool.
These are some of my FAVE 2024/2025 ways to get paid per FLOW...
...not by the hour.
Now...
At the risk of wearing out my welcome...
One of the MAJOR BREAKTHROUGHS I've had to PRODUCING income streams through taps is called:
B.A.D.
Build A Deal.
The B.A.D. Method is a badass futhermucker for getting ACCESS to FLOW!
(or getting other types of deals done.)
In Little Rock...
There were 18 SNM attendees.
I held a LIVE AUCTION.
And made a deal with ALL EIGHTEEN attendees.
The AUCTION made it FUN...
But at the core...
What I did during the auction was B.A.D.
I built a deal with them.
Instead of coming with a "pre-packaged" deal.
❌Getting a "yes" to a PRE-PACKAGED deal is an 8 or 9 out of 10 on the difficulty scale.
✅Getting a "yes" to a deal where they HELP put it together is a 1 or 2 outta 10.
I talk about B.A.D. in the classroom here in the "New Money from Old Courses" training.
...the SNM attendees got to EXPERIENCE it.
(The peeps getting the recordings get the next best thing. IMO, just hearing the auction go down alone will upgrade someone's income-producing mojo.)
Experience beats "reading" or "listening" to theory all to hell.
So...
Peeps can...
- *Work* and get paid by the hour.
or...
2. *Tap* and get paid PER FLOW they set up.
WORKING for money doesn't require doing anything different in most cases.
Which means 1 is the most popular option.
TAPPING requires some know-how and practice.
2 is the path less traveled...for sure.
I'm forever grateful for the path less traveled.
Jeannie's grateful she doesn't need to touch two wires together on the dryer or fondle the Lincoln anymore! 🤣
Path 2 requires courage, for sure.
Starting anything new and worthwhile always does.
There will be fear, doubt and your hands may tremble a bit.
But get started and life is never the same...
