Axel too long???? Need washers????

I changed my wheels recently and noticed that the axel is sticking out a bit further than the wheel. I have the stock Moxi Lolly and changed from derby wheels to Rollerbones Team wheels (57mm). Is this normal for the stock Moxi Lolly, or did I buy wheels too narrow? I’m surprised because the store had wheels that were even more narrow and I was under the impression that you could swap in and out most wheels on most skates without issues.

I bought some washers because it seems…. hazardous to hardwood floors. Is this a common thing?
