Flat Road Sprints
What is the thought process behind sprinting on the flats and not dropping down the gears? Reason I ask - I know if I was on a slight uphill drag and could drop the gears I could make more power.

Fat bike sessions
So I’m thinking about using the fat tire bike so I can get outside for my 4 hour ride on Saturday, but no power meter, just heart rate data. It would be along the shoreline, so I can make it a pretty constant effort. Pros and cons??
Cold-weather riding: why is it so hard to get right? 🥶🚴‍♂️
Anyone else struggle with layering in winter? I always seem to get it wrong — either I overdo it and end up baking halfway through the ride, or I underdo it and spend the whole time freezing. Today’s ride was a classic example: core felt just about okay, legs were manageable… but my feet? Absolute ice blocks by the first few kilometres. Once they’re cold, that’s it — no coming back. I’m trying to work out the sweet spot between staying warm enough without turning into a sweaty mess that just makes everything worse later on. Socks, overshoes, shoe vents, circulation, pacing — it all feels like a dark art in cold weather. What’s everyone’s go-to setup for genuinely cold rides? Especially for keeping feet warm without cooking the rest of your body. Any small tweaks or “wish I’d known this sooner” tips welcome.
