Flat Road Sprints
What is the thought process behind sprinting on the flats and not dropping down the gears? Reason I ask - I know if I was on a slight uphill drag and could drop the gears I could make more power.

I appreciate the responses Omar and Matthew! I was under the impression (incorrectly so) that we were going for max power. Reading more about the desired adaptation helps clarify things.
Questions for tomorrow Q&A
Hope you're enjoying your weekend. I'm a little worse for wear this morning after Roadman Club Christmas Party last night. Pop your questions below for tomorrow nights Rider Support Q&A Note: Tomorrow's Q&A is starting 30 minutes later (i'm travelling to Girona for a podcast) but @Mary H is hosting a informal get to know each other coffee chat starting at 7.30pm GMT

Is there any rule of thumb for fueling when training? Ie. Fueling when the session is over a certain duration, or at a certain intensity level. Thank you!

FTP tests
Best of luck to @Alex Omar @Aidan Fitton @John Mullally @Vern Loebs Jr @Davis Robinson doing testing either today or in the next few days. It always helps me mentally to segment the effort into quarters. Look to build the effort each quarter. The 3 key rules for a test like this : 1. Don't start too hard 2. Don't start too hard 3. Don't start too hard Best of luck, drop us a message here after to let us know how you felt. We're rooting for ya 💪 Edit: I'd love to know what your music/playlist of choice during the test is? I'm hardcore gangster rap

Thank you! Let's go team.
Intro
Hey All, My name is Davis I'm from North Carolina. I got into cycling after joining some coworkers on a lunch ride 4 years ago. I'm looking to see how far I can take my cycling with my available time. I'm training all winter to race in a gravel circuit in my region of the country. My goal is to become competitive in races, rather than just hanging on.
