Another intentional day with a day/evening transition
I have another dinner out tonight so when I was deciding what to wear, it was what will keep me looking appropriate at the office and do I have a sport coat that I can grab later to add for my dinner out. I chose this outfit for today Blue/Lilac/pink tattersal Slate Blue trousers Slate blue/grey patterned OTC dress socks Margaux Patina cap toe oxfords with matching belt When I get home later I will choose between a grey herringbone sport coat or go back to my new "Old Faithful" blue Blazer with pocket square for this evening! Have a great Thursday everyone!

Back to the office after a long weekend and hopefully near the end of the kids exams and projects submissions! 😅😮‍💨 Having an office in a bank building, I almost always see the gentlemen in strictly corporate navy and grey suits, white shirts, and solid colour ties or open collars. No embellishments. Of course the local gents are in their immaculate, visually striking kanduras. Very conservative uniform, and I do appreciate that the suits are generally very well tailored. The ladies are equally as corporate conservative. My office has a more relaxed dress code, hence, permitting more creative leeway. Bespoke wool Glen check double breasted sports coat with Benson & Clegg antique silver ‘St George & the Dragon’ buttons Bespoke wool black trousers Bespoke contrast collar and French cuffs cotton shirt New & Lingwood woven silk paisley tie Ede & Ravenscroft silk navy pocket square Henry Poole gilt Napoleonic crested cufflinks Nobile Italy cotton black and French blue socks Fairfax & Favor black tassel loafers WOTD DateJust 41 SOTD layering Roja Dove’s Pierre de Velay No. 6 and Boadicea the Victorious’ Bodacious. I have been using the Parfumo app’s fragrance selection generator and layering recommendations, based on my uploaded collection. It certainly has some interesting suggestions. The magic of this layering combination lies in the shared notes and contrasting families between Pierre de Velay No. 6 and Boadicea the Victorious’ Bodacious: - The Bridge (Heliotrope & Jasmine): Both fragrances share a heart of jasmine and powdery heliotrope. This prevents the two distinct perfumes from clashing, serving as the central link that binds them seamlessly on your skin. - The "Clean vs. Dirty" Contrast: The clean, soapy, herbal-citrus fougère opening of No. 6 acts like a crisp canvas. When hit with the rich, boozy gourmand top notes of Bodacious—cherry, cognac, and bitter almond—it likely cuts through the syrupy sweetness, turning it into a very sophisticated, "mature" dark cherry. - The Deep Dry Down Synergy: Both fragrances are incredibly rich at the base. The tobacco, tonka bean, vanilla, and amber from Bodacious perfectly lock into the leather, civet, resins, and tonka of No. 6. This transforms the animalic leather into an ultra-luxurious, smoky-sweet, and velvety suede.

Back to basic Blue and Grey
After a couple of bold combos with blacks and various greens I went back to basic menswear blue and grey. Started with a Pendleton cotton patterned shirt and grabbed my new gaberdine light grey trousers ((my busy Stephen Giles from whom I purchased them calls them Cary Grant grey😏). Grabbed my MTM Royal blue blazer I had made for my son’s wedding in 24 and running Bison Pendleton socks with Clark’s cloth black Oxford shoes and. Weneger field watch and a reversible p square:grey seersucker/ blue tattersall.
