Hello guys,
this Christmas I got myself a very nice gift.
A very traditional oldschool briefcase.
After coming back to work from the holidays I used it to carry all my office supplies and hardware. As is intended.
Because I work at a bank I sometimes get entrusted with the keys to the vault and several other important security doors.
Today I transported those keys in my new briefcase.
After arriving I tried to open the combination looks.
After fidgeting with one for a few seconds I realized that it was stuck.
O called a colleague and she tried some ways to get it open. Shaking it, tilting it, rotating the combination around, etc.
However none of this worked.
At this point the whole staff (around 15 people) gathered around us.
We needed to open the vault.
For safety reasons there are no backup keys.
We needed to break the damn look open with a screwdriver. (See picture)
At the same hour I contacted the seller to ask about a replacement or repair.
However after this incident I’m considering if a replacement would be a good idea. Maybe just a refund.
Does a faulty look mean that it is low quality, or could it just have been bad luck?
The Briefcase is from the brand “Times Resistance” I read a lot of positive things about them online.
The price was: 400€
But personally I’m no good at detecting quality leather or metal.
So I would like to know if some of you have experience with the brand or have any general thoughts on that topic.
Also: do you know any other brands that offer suitcases?
Personally I could not find any other.
Thank you for reading
