My winning art reception outfit!
Outfit I wore to my art show reception. The theme was 250th Anniversary America The Beautiful Landscape Art Show. It was 98 degrees and the gallery has no AC so I decided not to wear a jacket but to go more casual. Long sleeve navy blue linen shirt with the sleeves rolled up from Vineyard Vines that I wore un-tucked to hide my weight issue, White chino pants with very light vertical pinstripes in the fabric from Lands End, Navy Anson belt with silver buckle, navy blue dress socks with red white and blue sailboats from Tommy Bahama, my new blue spectators from Macy's, my Tag watch and matching medical Id bracelet, and I for cologne I chose Honor from Mission Fragrance because I was the first place winner of my oil painting of Stonington Connecticut! I have a few awards but this was my first official first place in a professional gallery! Oh I almost forgot; my fedora is from Tommy Bahama and is white with a black hat band and Marlin pin but I made custom band the night before just for the show. I fashioned a navy band out of some ribbon and hot glued a smaller red ribbon down the center of it and attached it over the black band. Then I took a cuff link I have that has an artist palette and paint brushes on it and sewed it onto the band. I modeled it after a hat I would love to buy but cant afford to now: the 350th anniversary Lock & Co fedora hat. I basically copied the same look at a fraction of the cost! The picture at the end is my painting that won.
