Generations

Sometimes style is caught as much as anything. My father came home 6 nights a week from the bank wearing his tie and of course again on Sundays for church since I was six years old. (Then he would change Into coveralls or jeans and head out to tend to the farm and cattle). He still wears a button front shirt at home. My uncle Dr Rahe always showed up for Easter dinner with his tie on as well. I have tried to model this behavior for my son. When he was in grade school and it was picture day he asked not only to wear a coat but a bow tie as well. Told him he would be the only kid in a sportcoat. He said that’s fine. And he followed through.

Once donning a tie becomes as second nature as blue jeans it can actually be somewhat liberating. Not because one has to but because one chooses to do so. However. There is a fine line where it can become costume. The third F of Antonio’s Styles System Function covers that: right place right time. But if it’s clearly that. Why not. Or better still. Why not knot?😏

PS last pic of my son Guy he is in my navy and white child’s shoes. The fact he is holding a brush cracks me up.
