Hey everyone,
I’ve been looking at a couple of blazers recently, and I noticed something I don’t fully understand. On a 2-button jacket, the lapel doesn’t always lie completely flush with the button stance -sometimes there’s a visible gap where the lapel sort of floats before it rolls into the top button.
It’s a little hard to explain. I encourage you to look at the photo below, of a two button jacket from Ralph Lauren that is a perfect example. This one is women’s, but I’ve seen it on a few jackets in the second hand market that are clearly men’s.
Could anyone tell me if it means anything about the jacket quality/construction, or simply a an aesthetic choice?
