Can you be too overdressed at work?
I work in an office, we have a lot of developers who generally wear t-shirts with slogans on (mostly a baggy fit). I don't do development, I manage the products and generally am the interface between the business executives, c-suite and so on. However even our ceo generally wears a golf shirt, jeans and takkies (sneakers). A couple of people dress up smarter, but its generally very dull. Would something like a nice button up shirt, sports jacket, a tie and some chino's or similar type of pants with a mix of shoes (as suggested in the early guides) work or would that be too formal (can one be too formal)?
Looking for some guidance on ideas. I'll be doing a clean-out of the wardrobe this weekend (I have lots of old clothes that don't do me any favors that i'm going to donate)
