Let's Talk About your WHY
Hey Gents, Just curious—what got you into caring about style? Was there a moment or a person that made you think, “Hey, I should start paying attention to this”? And now that you’re on this style journey, what’s been the biggest thing you’ve learned so far? We all started somewhere, and I’d love to hear your stories. Whether it’s about building confidence, finding your own look, or just stepping up your wardrobe game, drop your thoughts in the comments below! Looking forward to hearing what motivated you! 🔥

I haven't cared for a long time. but in the recent years i've liked the odd occasion when I wore a suit to work (utterly overdressed for the work environment I am in) so I've now decided to start paying more attention to these things and how I come across to others.
Keeping pet hair under control
Any tips on keeping pet hair under control? I have multiple golden labs and a golden retriever which means no matter how often I clean the house theres always hair around. Some clothing, especially the smarter looking pants seems to be a magnet for the hair. Does anyone have any tips on how you keep yourself looking smart when going out for the day or to work? What is an efficient way to get rid of the pet hair? I've tried some of the sticky rollers but they seem to fall apart pretty quickly (and its difficult to get around the back)

Mass Cleanup & Organization
To get myself started on this journey I've spent a few hours today cleaning up and putting clothes that no longer fit or are tired or ones that I never wear into piles to be donated to those who cant afford to shop for clothes. Some nice suites that fitted me in my younger years, some jackets that I've obtained over the years that no longer fit (can't even get close to buttoning them up) set aside for some thrift shops. I've vastly cut down on the t-shirt and short piles of clothes I wore in my varsity days (still got some, it gets crazy hot here in summer so I'll slowly see how I can make those outfits look cleaner and smarter while keeping cool). I have a good few short sleeve shirts, some long ones and a decent collection of chinos. Missing one or two of the key plain blue shirts. High on my list is to get some jackets (and to clean up my tie collection) and 2-3 pairs of nicer shoes and then I should be on a nice start of consistently dressing more stylishly. Now that I can more easily organize my clothes I can better decide what to wear. Still haven't got rid of as much as I would ideally like to but I think slowly trying out the more formal styles and gaining confidence will help me "let go" of some of the other clothes. Needed to share as its been a great mental lift to go through things and see that I am not as bad as I thought I was, still a way to go but happy that I don't have to start from scratch

@Chuck Cranford Ye, its been about 10yrs since I've done this. So its been a fairly big task :)
Can you be too overdressed at work?
I work in an office, we have a lot of developers who generally wear t-shirts with slogans on (mostly a baggy fit). I don't do development, I manage the products and generally am the interface between the business executives, c-suite and so on. However even our ceo generally wears a golf shirt, jeans and takkies (sneakers). A couple of people dress up smarter, but its generally very dull. Would something like a nice button up shirt, sports jacket, a tie and some chino's or similar type of pants with a mix of shoes (as suggested in the early guides) work or would that be too formal (can one be too formal)? Looking for some guidance on ideas. I'll be doing a clean-out of the wardrobe this weekend (I have lots of old clothes that don't do me any favors that i'm going to donate)

@Anthony Buntyn Thanks, I was thinking this, and I don't mind being well dressed. I have come before in a complete suit, black and white a classic formal look. Everyone comments but its generally positive.

@Dave Lawson Thanks I do like this suggestion, the pocket square will add a nice flair without being too formal.
