Learning to stop proving myself
Dear friends,
It’s the end of February already. I won’t be on the call tomorrow, my grandson turns one, and that clearly outranks everything else 😊, but I did want to share a quick reflection from this month.
February was about identity, and honestly, it confronted me.
Through my daily reflections (yes, still using my ChatGPT coach that I shared with you all), I started noticing a subtle pattern: I’ve been living with the belief that every single day must be a growth day.
More output. More discipline. More progress.
It sounds strong. But underneath it was pressure.
What I discovered is this: I don’t thrive on activity, I thrive on meaningful leverage.
When I’m building something that truly moves the needle, I’m calm, focused and often in flow. When I’m just being busy to prove effort, I fragment.
I also caught an old reflex; defending or justifying myself when challenged.
That’s not who I’m becoming.
This month wasn’t about doing more. It was about returning to who I actually am:
a builder focused on impact, not optics.
Grateful for this group 🙏
