Why Being Watched Changes Everything
I’m building something that will help online entrepreneurs save time, money, and frustration. And Resistance.. in the Steven Pressfield sense.. has been doing its job. Keeping me from shipping. Two weeks ago, I was on a call and asked for accountability. My coaches and peers didn’t coddle me. They challenged me to do a live demonstration. Working in the cloud. In public. Here’s the constraint. The window between then and now included four solid days of driving. And the rest was family time over Christmas. Realistically, I had one day to make it work. I’ll be honest.. that pressure sat in the background the entire time. A low hum of stress. The idea of failing in front of people I respect was incredibly motivating. So when the day came, something changed. Instead of doing another iteration of what clearly wasn’t working, I stopped. I chose a different path. Slower. More deliberate. Talking things through. Sanity checking each step. It felt less productive at first. But it was clearer. And within six hours, I solved the thing I’d been stuck on for six weeks. That’s what accountability does. It doesn’t just make you work harder. It makes you think differently. It breaks familiar loops. Forces better decisions. And changes the quality of your effort. If you’re stuck right now, it might not be because you need more time. You might just need someone watching. 🚀 - James
