Me Fall Down, Go “Boom” 😆
Growing up, I loved riding my BMX bike. 🚴‍♂️ It was one of those things that brought me joy, even though I started doing it less as time went on...
Eventually, my bike ended up collecting dust in the garage, untouched for years...
Well, the other day I thought, “Why not?” and decided to go for a little ride—just to knock the rust off.
Now, I live in Texas, so naturally, I was rocking my shorts and flip-flops. Not exactly ideal biking attire, but hey, I figured I’d just ride around the neighborhood...nothing too crazy.
Or so I thought...
As I was cruising around, jumping off the occasional curb, I started feeling pretty good. Nothing wild, just enjoying the ride. But as I headed back down my street, I decided to hit one more “big air” jump off a curb. Gave the pedals a little extra umph and hit that curb hard...then... Disaster Struck! 😱
Next thing I know, I’m flying off my bike, bouncing off the pavement. But here’s the thing: after years of “wiping out,” I’ve perfected my “bailing out” technique. I managed a quick tuck and roll, popping back onto my feet like a pro!
I did a quick damage check—scraped knee, palm a little scratched—but all in all, a successful “wipeout.”
I looked around to see if anyone caught my spectacular display of “grace” in action, but nope, not a soul in sight. 😂 I laughed the whole way back home, imagining what it must’ve looked like: a grown man in flip-flops, wiping out while attempting to jump a tiny curb.
I’ve never been called “graceful”—I’m more on the clumsy side. But one thing I’ve always been good at?
Laughing at myself...
At this point in my life, it’s almost impossible to embarrass me...
I’ve learned that when something goes wrong, you have two choices: you can be embarrassed and humiliated, or you can laugh it off.
We’re not perfect.
We’re not always going to get it right.
Sometimes, you’ll fall, or say something stupid, or do something that might be embarrassing.
But here’s the key: If you can have the confidence to realize that sh*t happens, you’ll always be able to look back, laugh, and move on...
How You Can Apply This 🚀
  1. Embrace Imperfection: We’re all going to fall down sometimes—literally or figuratively. Don’t beat yourself up. Own it, laugh about it, and keep moving forward.
2. Build Resilience Through Humor: When things go wrong, humor can be your best tool. It takes away the sting of failure and makes you stronger. Laugh at your mistakes, and you’ll bounce back quicker.
3. Stay Confident, Even When You Fall: Confidence doesn’t mean you never fall. It means you know you’ll get back up, no matter what. That mindset is what will keep you moving forward in life and business.
