Spent a couple hours this morning looking for a mobile sand blasting company… made 7 different calls. 1 to a company that came out in person to quote me a couple months ago - I texted him last week… nothing, called him today… nothing still (he was priced at $750 with painting included)
Other company I called answered immediately said can do it but minimum would be $1500, no paint
Only other company that reached out after I left a voicemail was 2 hours later, sent him pictures of the project… read it with no answer… he was at $400 with no paint. The other 4, just absolutely nothing
So now I’m debating do I take a loss of 3.5x what it was quoted for by going with the guy who answered immediately but I can get accomplished what my client needs done (keep them happy) or do I keep wasting my time/energy adding a headache trying to save a thousand dollars and go with the $400 guy? As I have already written off the $750 company.
This was a project I quoted to do myself during the winter for my client but the snow put a damper on the scheduling and being able to do that - I now need to sub it out to keep up with their time line and the all the other commitments I have made for the spring season.
Being on the lead side for a situation such as this has made a lot more sense to me and really understanding what Austin keeps saying
