Importance of speed to lead while being the lead
Spent a couple hours this morning looking for a mobile sand blasting company… made 7 different calls. 1 to a company that came out in person to quote me a couple months ago - I texted him last week… nothing, called him today… nothing still (he was priced at $750 with painting included) Other company I called answered immediately said can do it but minimum would be $1500, no paint Only other company that reached out after I left a voicemail was 2 hours later, sent him pictures of the project… read it with no answer… he was at $400 with no paint. The other 4, just absolutely nothing So now I’m debating do I take a loss of 3.5x what it was quoted for by going with the guy who answered immediately but I can get accomplished what my client needs done (keep them happy) or do I keep wasting my time/energy adding a headache trying to save a thousand dollars and go with the $400 guy? As I have already written off the $750 company. This was a project I quoted to do myself during the winter for my client but the snow put a damper on the scheduling and being able to do that - I now need to sub it out to keep up with their time line and the all the other commitments I have made for the spring season. Being on the lead side for a situation such as this has made a lot more sense to me and really understanding what Austin keeps saying

Large projects for one man operations
I have a 100+ acre job coming onto my plate that is going to be a massive blessing. The project will take some time to complete. How would you guys manage growth while taking on a larger project? Should I set aside time weekly to quote jobs and schedule work to start several months out? My fear is catching one big fish, and then finding myself with empty nets afterwards and having to rebuild momentum.

If it were a project you could do in phases I’d prolly shoot for that. May be easier for client to pay phase by phase gives you something to do when need to fill gap If it’s development that’s needs to be done quickly - have day or two a week where you start earlier and end earlier so you can schedule site visits
Yard Signs
Hello all, First le me say I love the site and all the info here. It has been awesome to have this lifeline and guidance. looking forward too see how everyone does. I am in the same boat as most here, just starting up in NE Florida area. Right now I am waiting to get decals and some signage installed on truck and equipment so I can get verified. I have a project lined up so i can get photos to start advertising online, I am kinda in a holding pattern until i get pictures for ads and website construction. I have been thinking about ordering yard signs to start advertising in my area. Have any of you tried them out and what was the results.

I personally haven’t had any luck so far, that said it’s been maybe 3 weeks. I did 2 different ones one with forestry mulching on and then another with honey suckle (biggest issue here in Cincinnati) and brush removal. I don’t know if most common people know what forestry mulching hence why I did the second sign. And both are “titled” land clearing… so I’m not sure if it’s the wording and/or design cause I also didn’t brand them… first time ever doing signs too. Now my uncle has had decent amount of luck in the same area with his Christmas light and pest control business… so I think they can work its just putting the pieces together for your area. Also have signs branded coming for when jobs are finished to advertise and hopefully they work better

@Cory Beamish something I just in my area was the town ship coming by and pulling up company signs… some pull faster than others I’ve noticed. The signs that just got pulled were there for about 2 weeks Something to think about… which townships can you get away with it
FB Ads and content creation date
Good morning gentlemen, I’ve filmed my ad for FaceBook marketing (will be cross posting as well), but I had a question regarding post date in relation to ad campaigns. Does Facebook deprioritize content if it has an older post date? I have some previous material I’m going to include in my campaign and some of it is several months old, will this effect the algorithm in any way?

I wouldn’t think it would. I think Facebook would see it as a separate post
Big Shoutout to the OWNR OPS!!!
What they say is true, you can just do things. BUT! You can just do things a whole lot easier with the advice that Austin has given us. Let me explain with a quick timeline of events for myself and my company: January 2026: Signed with a recommended marketing company from a trusted family member. They built a nice website, Google Business Profile, as well as some other small things for SEO, nothing major. February 2026: Website launched, started some cold outreach to test the market. Started with some simple facebook business posts and $5-20 a day ads (I've never had social media so this was intimidating). Leads started to trickle in and started doing my first few site visits. Also ordered some nice shirts, hats, business cards and began getting the word out for my company. End of the month, I acquired a ram 4500, 25k gooseneck, and began CDL practice. March 2026: CDL training complete, 10 quotes out, 5 jobs with deposits placed, and more leads coming in. Finishing up CDL training in preparation for the arrival of my new CAT 275xe lm2 and Shearex mulcher head first week of April. April 2026 Plan: Execute jobs that are in the queue with 5 star service and start working for those 5 star reviews. Build momentum, and knock 2026 out of the park. Long story short, in just a few months, I got the LLC started, begun grinding for brand recognition in my area, found demand, started visiting and quoting jobs, and already have enough work booked to have a profitable launch, all before the machine has even arrived. The reason I'm sharing this boring rant is just to say it is all possible by simply using the OWNR OPS starter program as well as the tools Austin provides in the classroom. Could it be done without? I'm sure, but its a whole heck of a lot easier when you simply follow the playbook Austin has laid out. Looking forward to the launch of the company first week of April when the machine arrives. Lots of bills to be paid, but it does help knowing the jobs are on the books to pay the bills for the first couple of months and ready for the taking. I'm HUNGRY to get started! Thanks Austin and OWNR OPS group members!
