Weekly Running Round Up
On this week's podcast, I interviewed Lucy Canham.
Lucy organises running tours around Birmingham here in the UK (where I am from)
She has also run all over the world in some amazing places
It's a fab interview
The key message for me?
The power of community
That's what it's really about
See, running can be very lonely
Especially if you do it just for the love and don't want to smash PBs all the time
The problem with the modern world?
We have created an ILLUSION of connection via social media
Because while we can connect with "more" people
It can also isolate us from connecting in "real" life
And you don't get rid of millions of years of evolution in a few years
We are tribal by nature and instinct
I have personally noticed that having a community around you is very powerful
Especially when we are training for difficult events
It's even more important to have like-minded people around you
Because you can share common experiences
It's way better to go through a marathon training cycle with people of a similar age and background
Which is why I built a coaching community to help people achieve their goals
It's also why I built a free online coaching community
Because, as the old saying goes
"If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together"
Having an experienced coach is very powerful
Having people to share the journey with is priceless.
If you want both?
Drop me a message and let's chat
