Itâs a mantra that came up on one of my Spotify playlists recently. A Toni Jones groove that starts with her saying "I am remembering the freedom to be here, and live an enjoyable life." In the wellness world, healing is often framed as the goal. The finish line. The reason we show up to the mat, the cushion, the practice. But what if healing is just the doorwayânot the dwelling.
What if our real purpose is living? Fully. Messily. Beautifully.
Yoga Nidra has taught me this because it invites us to be with what is. To rest with the ache. To soften around the unfinished parts. To remember that we are whole, even when we are hurting. It asks only that you show up. Lay down. Listen. Let go. And be loved. Just as we are. (Thanks for always reminding us of this đĽ°) Healing may be part of the journey. But presence is the point. Peace, pleasure, rest and ease -- this is my purpose.
"I am no longer orienting around pain. I am organizing around pleasure." Another line from Toni Jones that resonated with me. Or "When I breathe, I did the most."
So today I ask youâ
Are you waiting to live fully until the healing is âcompleteâ? Or are you willing to rest into your wholeness as it already is?
Iâd love to hear what this brings up for you.
And of course, it is time to welcome our fourteen newest Nidra friends to the community -- we are so glad you are here to join the conversation and lean into our true purpose of just 'being' -- together đđ
