Sociopaths
I'm glad to see "The Sociopath Next Door" on the reading list. My first exposure to the idea was "The Psychopath Test" by Jon Ronson, also a good book.
The thing that perplexes me the most about sociopaths is the human capacity in others to not believe they are what they are. I have dated several sociopaths and each time I deluded myself into believing that "love" will win her over or some BS.
It's powerful. Everyone has to be vigilant about this because it makes no sense.
There is a girl from my past EVEN NOW many years later that fires up my heartstrings when I reminisce about her while KNOWING she was a true sociopath. I cannot understand that behavior in my own psyche, but I'm AWARE that it's B.S. and can put it away now.
Just stay on the alert. They're out there and they will manipulate you without regret.
