I joined last week with basically no Instagram, and before I go out and start taking photos I want to post my thoughts after doing my research and get your reactions. Most of the things I've noticed are:
1) Your attention is valuable so don't focus on the camera
2) Look like you're busy/there for a reason. Make the audience see the photo and make assumptions of who is taking your picture and why you are in that location. You don't have to elaborate. Everyone should only be posting their best photos to Instagram
3) Even with no photo editing experience, all you really need to spend time learning about is the basics of filters and get a tripod.
4) Many people post different outfits in each picture. It's just about looking classy.
5) You can find the most photogenic and scarce resources just by a simple google search. Additionally, most hotels have restaurants that you can book a reservation for to get access to it for photo opportunities.
Did I mostly get that right? Is there anything major that I'm missing? Additionally, I haven't seen anything that talks about time frame. My profile picture is from my brother's wedding ~5 years ago, but I think it shows me off well. Is it okay for me to keep this as my profile picture on Instagram, or should I make it a more recent photo?
