Bluetooth clicker
Good afternoon,
Ty Buchanan has mentioned this in a post long ago, but you should implement an Apple Watch, or other watch, as a prop. The Apple Watch has remote connectivity with your iPhone camera, so you can at once use it as a prop and take photos with it.
Buy once, cry once. You will undoubtedly be interested in various offers from maybe uBeesize which sells small cheap bluetooth clickers. These cheap clickers will fail if you cover them with your hand or move too far from the camera. And by too far from the camera I mean about 10 feet. You will find yourself doing janky shit with your hand to at once cover the clicker in your photo so it is less obvious and trying not to make it look awkward.
I recommend solving this problem with a connected watch. It has longer range, better connectivity, and you can see yourself on the watch screen and more perfectly frame yourself in your photo when you are shooting alone.
