I read a very interesting article this morning from the CEO of discmaker regarding AI's impact on the future of music and what it means for independent artists, writers and music producers. Personally I found it very enlightening. Check it out if you get the chance.

I just listened to this podcast with the title listed on the post title line on the Production Expert Podcast. This is very interesting and has already had an affect where Spotify and Claude are already taking large steps to comply. I won't go into depth on everything that the participants said that it's something that we should all listen and pay attention to. The basic gist is that the EU is exacting change by going after the big players like Google, Claude, Spotify, etc. by saying that they cannot distribute anything that will be heard, read, seen, or experienced within the EU on their platforms without some sort of labeling stating that the piece was made with AI. iirc Claude is looking at using digital watermarking to identify content that contains AI creation. This act does not specifically go after a completely AI creation. It could be something with five words of text or seconds of audio that were replaced with AI generated content due to problems, noise, and what have you. As I understand it, violations will be put upon those organizations who are supplying an avenue for members to upload their content and if that content contains AI. The speakers agreed that the big players would most likely pass violation costs down to the unfortunate boob who uploaded something with AI assisted creation without proper labeling that it contains AI stuff. The You Tubes/Googles of the world are not going to be left holding the bag. The big problem that I see with this enforcement and the breaking of the dam will be that many of these boobs who use something like Scaler without realizing that it uses AI will upload something to a streamer without ID and catch hell. A question that comes up for me is how does this affect AI driven mixing, mastering, and composing plugins? And Round Hill is taking no prisoners.
