Plugin recommendations
Looking for plugin recommendations. As I upgraded to a newer DAW and added 4 new Wave Central plugins including the PAZ Analyzer it has been recommended I seek suggestions for plugins. My systems supposedly doesn't support AVX2 but I have been able to use VST3 plugins. Looking forward to your suggestions.

I think at this point best I don't worry to much about plugins. The more I work with this DAW and what I currently have the more options available for mixing, producing and mastering. As I work through the classes in the 101 program the more I able achieve in the mixes. Right now I'm figuring out what's going to work best regarding what I do at the track level, then the buss levels, then the gain stage and finally the master busses. I usually do normalizing, faders/pan left or right, EQ, and set a 12:1 compression on each track. They either go to a vocal buss or and instrument buss. Those go to the gain buss and that to the master buss. I try to have everything pretty much the way I wanted it before it goes to the master buss were I just tweak volume, transient(if there are any remaining) and maybe a final balancing of the stereo buss. May not be the way the pro's do it but that's always given a good product. I'm learning there's a lot more I need to learn in each of these areas. And sometimes I have to just back of and keep it simple. To much going on at the same time can make a mix sound like nothing but noise IMO.

GA that's why I'm here to correct perhaps bad habits and learn new ones. I don't use limited on every track. Mainly on busses (if needed). My home studio is not very big. And from 2250 Hz my hearing drop at least 3 Db or more particularly for very soft sound. That complicates everything for me. That's an army service connected issue from my communication MOS. Vocally my voice doesn't carry very far so I need to be right up on the mic in order to get a good track. So I record them as hot as I can without clipping. These are just some issues I have figured out ways to overcome as still get a decent quality sound. I have no formal training as a recording engineer. I hope and pray this helps you guys help me improve and be better at what I'm doing. Everything I know here is either learned by trial and error or from watch others in their process to get the results I want. Hope this helps. Thanks for for you reply.

Orientation Call with Joseph
Just finished the Orientation Call with Joseph. What a blessing it has been. Tremendous help for me. Completed orientation and at 20% on the 101 classes. Looking for to the future and this adventure. This is a tremendous program!!!👍

Looking forward to our next session. Reworked Bootleggers Gold last couple of days using what I have learned so far, much better results. Bad new PC finally gave me the blue screen of death " bad system config." Looks like a bad SSD drive or somehow corrupt window boot up. Looking to replace with a system that will handle the newer DAW requirements. My compressors in this DAW will only allow prest ratios 4,8,12,20,inf. I typically use the old Redbook 12:1 ratio, more headroom. Luke was a big help last night on some Transients with the song we looked at during orientation. I have no visible way of fixing. All good learning experience.

Advice for beginners?
Imagine someone is starting learning mixing or mastering today. What's the one piece of advice you'd give them to help them succeed faster?

As a new member I have learned, it doesn't have to be perfect. Volume is everything, you don't need a bunch of plug-ins, complete the "start here and soon as possible" it will answer your questions moving forward, begin the class room music production 101, engage the weekly event as many as you can, train your ears to hear the shuttle things you can see, be patient things will begin to make better sense. These are just a few things I have learned in just a few weeks. Enjoy every precious moment of the journey you are about to experience.🤗
