How to learn/remember/memorize vocabulary
The follow is taken from @Shane Peterson 's video,I really appreciate it: --two answers: As a student: 1-Your teacher will give you a list, 2-The book<1100 words you need to know>--if you're prepairing for IELTS exame,TOFEL exame,GRE college entrance exame. But the best way to remember your words is to take these words and make them personal.Example:''exonerate''.Use Chatgpt,1-definition; 2-five example sentences.Take one of them, make it even more personal.-''He was finally exonerated after spending five years in prison'',turn it into your own sentence:''My uncle John was finally exonerated after spending 5 yeas in prison''. That's my answer for student. As an adult:you don't need new vocavulary-if you studied English in middle school and high school, that's enough. 1/Daily English(I assume the reason is not for a test) : How many words do you need to know?-743.The problem is although you know the words, you don't how to use them. Learn how to use the words you already know. You know every word, but --You don't know what you don't know.Where can you learn?-Join my DDM class. 2/3Ps(there're specific vocabulary you do need to know) -Professional:Your work vocabulary. You need to know that stuff. The best place to learn is on the job. -Passsion:What do you love?-sport?music?food?cooking?You should expand that to English,by reading stuff,by listening stuff,by watching stuff in English. You make friends through your passions. -Personal:Think about every conversation you had today, with your husband, your wife, your boss, your empoyee, your coworker, your colleague, your teacher...try to go back to one of those conversations in your own language--can you immediately say those words, those sentences, those conversations in English?-You're goinng to start to find out words that you're not sure to translation.-Write that word down in your language, then later go find it on line,go find the word, and then verify with Chatgpt, make sure that the word you used correctly, and then you gotta make a list, just like a student, and these words are going to be easy to remember, because they're your words, they're the words that you used,it came out of you, you're just finding the English equivalent. The words that you use are very personal.Your personal vocabulary might be large, but it's not massive. You tend to use the same words over and over again. If you start doing this, you start making a list of vovabulary. On the first day, your list might be really big,and the second day might be really big...but by the tenth day, your list is gonna be small. And by like day 30,it'll be one or two words. These words will be easy to remember-because they're your words.
