I’m in a fat loss phase and I still ate at parties this weekend!
No food scale or measurements. No skipping the foods I wanted! (And not eating mindlessly either). No apologies or excuses. Here’s how ⬇️ Before I went, I already knew the menu (our hosts are amazing) so I could actually PLAN 🙌🏼🙌🏼 - this doesn’t always happen so I am going to admit I had an upper hand and got extremely lucky here. Because of that, I knew: I wanted a brownie ✔️ I wasn’t drinking (I just don’t on Sundays) ✔️ I’d build the rest of my plate around protein + volume ✔️ So I kept it simple: • Protein first (about a palm + a half) • Loaded up on veggies + pico • Small scoop of guac (thumb-sized) to use for dip and a little extra flavour on my taco• Skipped extras that would just put me over calories (like the cheese, creamy dips, chips and crackers and trying every single dessert) • Made the brownie I actually wanted part of the PLAN and truly enjoyed it! >> No need to bring my own food, no going in with an “all or nothing mindset”, and not a shred of guilt! This is how good it can feel making choices “on purpose” instead of just in the moment — and I want to make something else very clear, if you’re not trying to lose weight, then you can absolutely just go enjoy a party and track NOTHING! I usually do when I’m not in a fat loss phase and it’s so freeing and makes my lifestyle truly sustainable! The moment you start to feel stressed out by your food, is the moment your journey becomes unhealthy. It doesn’t matter how “clean” the food on your plate is. 💣 You can have the best of both worlds when you are intentional. Realizing this and living it out today makes me *SO* happy — not just for me, but for all of my future clients who have been struggling to find this kind of balance. You don’t need perfection to achieve your goals, even losing weight. You simply need a plan you’re excited to follow. If you had this kind of strategy going into your next event… how different would it feel?
