First, thank you and for checking in on me as I have been a little MIA. After my boss was fired last month, things got a little hectic for me. Between the bigger boss being in India for the last 2 weeks of December and me being in the field with my one and only coworker in my department, having the project manager role on top has had me burning the candle at both ends. However, despite being super busy, I am enjoying my job again. But not only that, but I feel like we have been more productive in the past month than we have since I started at this company 4.5 years ago. And its sad to think how much one person could affect that.
On top of that, I am still kicking myself for how much power that man had over me the past 11 years. I worked with the guy since Oct 2023 at a previous company. I learned a lot from him as a geologist, but on the personal aspect, he was very negative. And he filled my head with things about other people, including people I knew but didn't interact closely with. So, in that aspect, I have been super grateful to be out from under him. And one of those people he had me convinced was an awful person was the VP of my company. Thank goodness, over the past few weeks, I am realizing most of what was told to me was not true.
While, I have been busy, trying to keep my head above water, I have not been doing my workouts. But I have been taking the time to do things that I love to take care of myself. My dad and I went skiing on Christmas day. Then I went skiing with Jenna and some of her friends on New Year's Day. That was a fun time, thank you, Jenna. And I went skiing with my dad again yesterday. I am working in Harrisburg this week with a mountain on my Epic pass about 20 minutes away from my site. I'm hoping I can hit that mountain after work one day. Then at the end of this month, I am heading to West Virginia for my women's meet up vacation and stopping at Whitetail at the Maryland/PA border on the way down to ski for one or two days.
I am excited for the adventures I have coming up. And while work will continue to be busy, I'm excited to see what transpires there for me professionally as well.
