Running FB lead ads for a local painting company in Barnsley (UK, lower-income area). was targeting 12 miles radius but now increased it to 20miles radius since he complained.
Stats so far (3.5 weeks):
- Spend: £173
- Leads: 12
- CPL: ~£14
- Link clicks: 183
- CPC: £0.95
- CTR: 4.03%
Problem:Client hasn’t closed any leads. Says they’re “time wasters” or not responding — but he barely follows up because he’s getting work from Checkatrade and prioritises that. He’s also getting impatient and wants to stop early.
Changes made: Recently added a written question in the lead form (“Briefly describe your painting project”) to increase lead quality.
Question to the group: Given the situation, would you:
- Keep improving lead quality via stricter form questions, or
- Move to a simple landing page (business branding + project description) to pre-qualify harder, or
- Is this primarily a sales/follow-up issue, not an ads issue?
Curious how you’d handle a client who won’t properly work the leads.
