We’ve all been there, frustrated with some aspect of our rhythmic feel in jazz. Working out the notes of someone’s solo or a line but finding it hard to feel like you are locking in with their feel.
The answer?
I often say a big thing is to just listen to jazz. It can be that simple, it isn’t the only answer of course (check out the free interactive jazz bowing course in the “classroom” )
However regular listening is the most important thing in getting the feel. If you can’t hear swinging lines in your head, you aren’t going to make it happen with your bow.
